Rebate Addict, "J", agreed to have me post my thoughts publically. Most of the others have been private and I'm still working on them. My thanks again to all of the members who have PMd me for their honesty and open hearts. hug

"Rebate Addict or "J" and her posts first caught my attention by their articulate nature and detail. I once referred to her jokingly as the Erma Bombeck of the group with her mix of humor and common sense. I pretty much had you pegged as a fellow "baby boomer", lol.

But you are not a "40 something", rather a someone who has had to grow up much too quickly. No idea of your birth order but I would suspect you are either the first born or an only child. Your flair for nurturing others is evident in the effort you put into each and every post. Were you always so wise or just one of those people born with an "old soul"?

You are the first person to take up the slack both at work and at home when there is a crisis. You continually take on tasks no one else will. You are not often rewarded or even acknowledged for your dedication and commitment to the service of others and sometimes wonder if you make a difference.

The answer is you do. Your actions are like a pebble thrown into a lake....the ripples travel farther than you imagine. Your biggest challenge is to reserve time for yourself so that you can recharge your spiritual and emotional energies. Stop worrying about what your future has in store for you. Relax and allow yourself to be nurtured and cared for instead of always being "The Giver"

Peace

I think this is reasonably detailed - I can't wait to see RA's response.

She and I agreed it was pretty dead on..it was the beginning of a wonderful friendship. hug

That being said I enjoyed reviewing some of the earlier posts and think it would interesting to post some additional exchanges if there is interest. Smilie

Remember the mom in Poltergeist? After she saved Carol Ann, her hair had that white streak in it because of the trauma she was through. Analyzing me would be something like that, but with more slimy goo. nod

Arjunsr would have to go through and delete the bad posts then stand contended and say "This thread is clean." Shortly thereafter, everything goes to hell quickly.

I think it was reasonably well managed last time. I trust you and Arj will do a good job of facilitating. I was thinking of the content value to the Lounge more than anything else. What are your thoughts Ray?

I have no thoughts, seriously.

I was making an attempt at humor. Guess I failed. Sadwalk

Lol, I got the humor but was seriously interested in your thoughts. I know you are very observant and don't miss a thing in the Lounge regardless of how subtle. Sadwalk until the cows come home kiddo..we both know that you seldom fail at anything you set your heart to. It's one of the reasons you are able to navigate this site as well as you do. hug

Yes, I responded to Lori Ann privately, but should have posted my response here, too. (I delayed doing it for some reason, then it got lost in the shuffle.) Her analysis of me was completely true, flattering, and encouraging, and I greatly appreciate the thought and concern she put into it. It was uplifting to reread it today.

Lori Ann is a wonderful *giver* in this forum. She puts so much thought, care, and concern into what she posts. Her posts are often little "gifts" to others -- intended to encourage, enlighten, embrace. It saddens me to see that the gifts are often glossed-over and lost in the negativity that can sometimes overtake the Lounge.

I am truly honored to be a friend of yours, Lori Ann.

And you have an *awesome* Chrismas avatar! May I ask who did it? It looks extremely professional.
