I read this as an event or some type of behavior that was not something to be proud of that has recently been made public to the GF.

2) and that hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.


This can be read in a number of ways. One might be that another woman, perhaps involved with said behavior/event "felt scorned" and as a result was the one who communicated to the GF.

Or the GF may be the "scorned" woman in this scenario as a result of discovering an event/behavior that up until now had yet to made public.
