Contest begins on January 17, 2012, at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") and ends on December 26, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Contest Period consists of twelve (12) monthly entry periods that begin at 12:01 a.m. ET on the first day of the calendar month (except the first phase which will begin on January 17, 2012) and end at 11:59 p.m. ET on the last day of the calendar month (except the final entry period, which concludes on December 26, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. ET.).
Open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (excluding Florida), the District of Columbia and Canada (excluding Quebec) who are at least thirteen (13) years old at the time of entry.
How to Enter: During the Contest Period, visit www.100.llbean.
You can also enter the Contest via the Get Out(fitted) Gear Giveaway tab on the L.L. Bean Facebook page https://www.facebook.co
Then, follow the directions to submit one (1) essay demonstrating how winning Get Out(fitted) Gear from L.L. Bean will help you make more outdoor moments possible (the "Submission") in order to receive one (1) Contest entry into the applicable Monthly Entry Period. You may also upload a video or photo to accompany your Submission but only the essay portion will be judged for purposes of this Contest. By uploading your Submission, you agree that it conforms to the Submission Guidelines and Content Restrictions as defined below (collectively, the "Guidelines and Restrictions") and that Sponsor, may disqualify you from the Contest if it believes, in its sole discretion, that your Submission fails to conform to the Guidelines and Restrictions.
Submission Guidelines:
The Submission must be in text format;
The Submission must be no longer than 6,000 characters in length;
The Submission must be in English; and
The Submission cannot have been submitted previously in a promotion of any kind or exhibited or displayed publicly through any means.
Content Restrictions:
The Submission must not contain material that violates or infringes another's rights, including but not limited to privacy, publicity or intellectual property rights, or that constitutes copyright infringement;
The Submission must not disparage Sponsor, Administrator or any other person or party affiliated with the promotion and administration of this Contest;
The Submission must not feature brand names or trademarks other than Sponsor's mark, which entrant has a limited license to use to incorporate into his/her Submission for this Contest;
The Submission must not contain text not created by entrant;
The Submission must not contain text that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, tortious, defamatory, slanderous or libelous;
The Submission must not contain text that promotes bigotry, racism, hatred or harm against any group or individual or promotes discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, disability, sexual orientation or age; and
The Submission must not contain material that is unlawful, in violation of or contrary to the laws or regulations in any jurisdiction where Submission is created.
Limit: Each entrant may enter the Contest up to twelve (12) times – one (1) time per Monthly Entry Period – during the Contest Period.
Winner Determination: After the conclusion of each Monthly Entry Period, a panel of qualified judges determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion will select the potential winners (1 for each day during the Monthly Entry Period) from among all eligible Submissions received, based on an application of the following criteria ("Judging Criteria"):
Creativity (33.34%);
Expressed need for product/classes (33.33%); and
Reflection of the outdoor spirit of L.L.Bean and goal of inspiring the next generation of outdoor enthusiasts (33.33%)
In the event of a tie, the entrant whose Submission received the higher score in the creativity criteria, as determined by the qualified judges in their sole discretion, will be deemed the potential winner. Non-winning Submissions from each Monthly Entry Period will not be eligible for subsequent Monthly Entry Periods. Sponsor reserves the right to select fewer than the stated number of winners, if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Submissions.
Prizes: THREE HUNDRED SIXTY-SIX (366) PRIZES: A prize package consisting of L.L.Bean products determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion (based on content of winner's Submission). Maximum retail value: $500 USD. Prizes are nontransferable and no substitution will be made except as provided herein at the Sponsor's sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. Winners are responsible for all taxes and fees associated with prize receipt and/or use. Limit: One (1) prize per person. Maximum value of all prizes: $183,000 USD.
