Base on what criterias do you rank people?

I'm going to put this out there first before asking this question. I believe that our brainpower lasts longer than our physical appearance. Almost every nice looking person in this world will one day grow old and become unattractive but brainpower is there with them until the day they die or acquire Alzheimer. With that being said and since I am in college right now I will start up with the college environment. Does anyone here rank people based on what their major are in college - kind of like the caste system? The more difficult major require higher rank in high school - meaning people who excelled in every class in high school are allowed admission to that specific major.

I'm curious about this because whenever I walk around campus, I always see people wearing shirts that may have one of the following phrases on them "College of Liberal Art, College of Natural Science, College of Engineering, College of Business." Does this mean that they want to be ranked based on their major?

Humans like to be part of a group, hence the t-shirts. Most people aren't to concerned with a ranking by others unless they are insecure, IMHP.

No. I think its a matter of showing pride in whatever college they are in. I don't think anyone really "thinks" they are better than some other college, although there are jokes that fly around. I know that at my school, the "arts and sciences" school is nicknamed the "arts and crafts" by engineering students (and I'm guilty of referring to them like that once or twice xD). I think you'll always find that people say that their group is the best. Who doesn't want to be part of the "Best group?" Doesn't mean that people want to be ranked, literally.
