Never tried the St. Tropez. I've only ever used Bare Minerals self tanner and that's because my neighbor worked at QVC back home and gave me a huge bottle. I'll just have to remember the VS is like makeup and not a tanner so I can only wear it when I'm going somewhere air conditioned.

It depends on how lazy I am. If I'm not going anywhere important I'll just wear it alone, but if I want I can treat them as foundations, like they'll last longer with powder and setting spray, and I even wear primer under them sometimes. Of the ones I've tried, Missha perfect cover has the most coverage while looking COMPLETELY natural. If I'm going to be out for a long time I still wear a longwearing foundation instead of BB cream.

i meant to chime in on the bb cream question - i have super sensitive skin (i think it's sensitive to dimethicone and it definitely hates alcohol - there's prob a lot of other stuff that it doesn't like also) and the missha perfect cover irritates it. i don't break out, but i start to get red bumps on my cheeks (right under my eyes) by the end of the day. i also got the missha signature one that's a little more expensive - that one does not irritate my cheeks. however, i think both of those clog my pores a bit - i can't wear them on a daily basis bc i get clogs on my nose. the missha perfect cover also has a grey undertone and takes awhile for it to oxidize. the signature is not as grey, but still has that same tone.

i've tried virtually all the early ones released at sephora - and they all suck. none of them have the "real" bb cream texture. they basically feel and look like tinted moisturizers. (boscia, clinique, dr. jart at sephora) there are new ones popping up everywhere so i haven't gotten around to trying any of those. the only new one i tried is the dior hydralife, which actually surprisingly has the texture of an asian bb cream! it's darker and meant for medium to tan skin (think nc30-nc40) so it may look orange on lighter skin. it looked a bit dark on me actually, and it also seemed to clog my pores.

i've also tried a couple of japanese bb creams, and my absolutely favorite is nanoce bb moist cream [makeupalley.com]. it's super thick/pigmented, but controls oil really well and does not clog my skin or irritate my cheeks! i love it so much. there are 2 color choices - the lighter no.1 is suitable for nc15-nc20 i think, while the darker is more for nc30ish. i love that they are yellow-toned rather than grey-toned like a lot of the korean ones.

i also have hada labo bb cream [amazon.com] and hada labo bb emulsion [amazon.com] - between the two i like the emulsion better. it's really light but looks great and does not get super oily. i got both of these in the #2 color (the purple is the darker one, the pink is the lighter shade) and it's a bit darker than the nanoce - i'd say nc33 or so. the lighter one is probably for nc20 skin, but i am not sure.

HTH!! i haven't tried most of the korean ones, bc they're mostly too light for my skin. missha is one of the few that actually makes different shades.

nails - the SH+julep+SV didn't work for me. started peeling on my right hand at day 2. but it was my nails that were peeling - i think i caught aya's problem!

i guess my nails are also unhealthy now bc those same 2 nails were peeling a few weeks ago. i took my polish off and chopped off my nails. will continue my manicure tests in a week or so... i'm going to give my nails a break for now.
