ETA: $36 for 3 pc- hat, lounge pants and top for new born!!!! Faint Are baby cloths this expensive usually? It will be $18 after code but I dont think its worth that much. It is just some simple tops and cotton pants.
i stick to cheaper things for babies, as they grow out of them in a few months. i usually shop at target or kohls and buy the carter stuff there. you can find some great deals in the clearance sections of both these stores (plus, stacking coupons etc at kohls). hth! i try not to spend more than $10 on any baby apparel item.

it CAN get expensive, but i find it's really unnecessary. case in point - my friend and i once bought a green juicy tracksuit for another friend's baby's 1st bday. it cost $50 at nordstrom rack. i don't think she ever wore it. Crying2 she was a girly girl (most girls are at that age laugh out loud) and didn't like things that weren't pink. shake head what a waste of money!

oh and don't forget kurpee's dressy tux bib on amazon for $4! Smilie

Yeah - unfortunately, kid stuff is STUPID expensive. One thing I found I never had enough of - bibs. I just went and bought more today. Good, absorbent bibs are hard to find! Should be easy to pack too! (I just bought another 3 pack of the cute teething bibs from Carters today. Even at SteinMart they were $11.)

If you want an idea though, and it is cheap - this [walmart.com] was THE BEST gift I got at my baby shower. It is so so so so so so useful!!!

It holds about 10 diapers, a pack of wipes, and it has individual baggies in a dispenser that you can use to tie up yucky diapers. They also come in handy for spit ups on clothes, you can tie it up and toss it in your diaper bag. I can use this to change DD in the trunk of my car, if we are running in to a store I can toss this in the cart with her in case she needs a diaper change and it is SO convenient. I never have to have her bottom touch the nasty ass changing tables. It folds up to about the size of a notebook and maybe 4 inches thick with 8 size 2 diapers. Seriously. Can NOT live without this!

(I actually just looked this up to refer it to you and I had NO clue it was that cheap. It feels really nice and very substantial too! I would have thought $19.99 easy.)

Cute reference!!

I bought some baby stuff for a friend that had a kid last year and OMG, it's EXPENSIVE!

You can consider Etsy [etsy.com]. The sellers says it's like ebay, but better. Most things are all handmade.

Kids stuff [etsy.com] So you might find it's worth the money because you can even personalize some stuff! Some of the stuff uses organic cotton too, which is nice, not that the baby will know. laugh out loud
People know that baby stuff and wedding stuff are things you need to buy and people will pay a ton for. It's SO dumb!!!

Seems expensive to me.

Check the children's place. Lots of times they have good deals. I usually see deals for them in HD.

Free ship to store if you order online. It seriously is FABULOUS. If I was just taking her to Target or grocery shopping with me, I never even needed to take a diaper bag. Plus, it's great if I am at the grandparents or something, I can change her on a bed or couch, everything is kept in one place, and the blankets or furniture is protected from an accident.

(I sound like a freak, I mean, it's a $10 changing pad, not life saving surgery...but buy it. It's awesome laugh out loud )

It even has a strap on it to keep the baby secure that doubles as a carrying handle. It really is the most useful thing I got at my shower. Don't get me wrong, people bought beautiful clothes and wonderful gifts - but the one thing I use the most and wouldn't have ever bought myself is that changing pad - AND it will last far longer than an outfit. Seriously. Natalie got so many clothes she had things she outgrew before she got to wear them.

I really like the way the blue dress looks...unfortunately, I don't really feel comfortable in strapless. I've never found a comfortable strapless bra and since I've got the smallest of bewbies, whenever I wear strapless, I find myself constantly pulling the top up. shake head
