Dh drives me crazy shopping. Bless his heart, he doesn't know how to
I hope you guys get a nice vacation soon that doesn't involve DH shopping
Oh, I use dry shampoo and am a brunette, but I have to REALLY brush my hair afterwards. Like, a LOT. I use Klorane dry shampoo...I like it
Thanks for the dry shampoo suggestion.
And for me, what makes it even seem like it's even a tad more impossible is that the fact that friends that are my age - mid 20s have lavish weddings, taking crazy vacations every few months, and are buying houses like money is just rolling out of their pockets.
I think what makes it even more frustrating is that even though I'm going to start a life with my DBF a few more years down the road, he's not overly concerned and makes more than enough to pay off his student loans easily, but it's getting done sooo slowly. Not that I'm one to talk with my shopping - at least I get deals, he just willy nilly dishes out full price for things that can be had for much cheaper!
Finances and money are deal breakers for me. If we cannot get on the same page about that, the relationship will not work. I am about to shut down the shopping (except VS) after I buy my nieces their b-day/holiday gifts and baby shower gifts. nuSO thinks I spend a lot, but he is trying to get me to re-do my home. #SoSad
based on your review, i think i don't need it then. my hair is probably considered faster to dry.
I had no idea you were so young. Hahaha

going to a meeting on a boat on sunday!
I think we are a bit smarter than most people our age. DH and I are trying to do things with no debt or limited debt. So many people our age feel like they have to keep up with all of their friends and others and honestly - who wouldn't love to be able to afford all that stuff without a thought? Just think that later in life, all of our deal hunting will pay off because we will be in SO MUCH better shape than others
At least, I tell myself all of this so I feel better
I'm 27 and DH will be 29 in July FWIW...
My car is older
I really hope our deal hunting will pay off in the end, but it seems to make me spend more than necessary, although, I will admit, I've gotten some fantastic deals because of all you girls. And now that I've ceased shopping 90% and am actually using my stuff, the feeling is not so bad!
I'd like to be able to put down at least 20% down as well, but from the way DBF makes it sound, it will be hard. I just think of my friends who can do that and they're just soo lucky. In hindsight, better financial decisions (fewer makeup and clothes
reminds me - i'm starting to look at where to go for my honeymoon!!! :whe e: any suggestions ladies? everything is astronomically expensive. when a night's stay costs $2k it kinda makes the $10 i save here or there seem useless.
I think when he traveled out of the country, he was okay staying at hostels and had people's place to stay at along with a couple of hotels, but if I were to travel out of the country aside from where family live, I do not want to be living in a hostel
I love the idea of couples getting on the same page with finances! Now, to rub off on him....

For your honeymoon! Anywhere you wanna go? What kind of honeymoon are you looking for? I wanna try one of those hotel huts in Bali or somewhere with ocean like the Caribbeans or something! But some people like the poshness of Europe. I guess if you're going to stay on a hotel in the canals of Venice like the one on The Tourist...But you said you've been to Europe already...

I couldn't agree more about finances being a major factor in a relationship. You will be fine when you stop most of the shopping! :n od: I am!
I sure hope I will rub off on him sooner rather than later! In his mind, he considers himself cheap when he compares himself to his coworkers. All in all, he's not THAT bad, but could be better, as could I. He chalks it up to paying for all those school loans, but he's been working for a long time out of school now and I still don't really see that as an excuse anymore. :sha ke:

bali looks nice, but i keep thinking it's more of a vacation not a honeymoon. idk. it's not completely out of the question but i was aiming for more of a white sand beach/clear blue waters scene, at least for part of it. (bali's beaches are supposedly not the highlight - for those you should go to thailand in the area)
we just did europe last year so i'm not feeling that at all. i would consider asia, or south america (peru is on my list of things to do). but somehow it's not right without a beach component.
and dude,
