shipping on elf is 5.95 and target beauty shadow book is really pretty but it shouts out $5 Nono1 for a gift item :evi llaf:
I will not be buying much though may be somewhere around $40 if i buy from elf site. there is a bobo50% code i found. Is there any 50% off code too?
Thanks again for detailed reply :hu g:
laugh out loud i didn't know what ur budget was for gifts!
their codes differ all the time. glad that shipping is $6! makes it easier to stomach - if you buy more than $12 worth then the 50% code is better! tho usually the codes are only on some items, i.e. only on mineral, or only on studio, etc. it's been awhile since ive ordered so i'm not sure what codes are out now but they change almost daily!
Quote from Tizzylicious :
I tried a couple of the shadows and they didn't go on nicely. I didn't like them so I haven't touched it since. nod

I see where you are coming from. I say splurge if you have the means to do it. Then you won't look back and regret it. Can't wait to see where you decide! bounce
...
ic. glad i didn't open it then! tho, is it bad to regift? :-\
with elf it's really hit or miss. some of their shadows are nice! like the beauty books - they're really not that bad at all.

I never worn high waist jeans (well except as a baby or when I was below 12) When I was in college low waist bootcuts were IN and i was loving it- I still love it heart VS love jeans are my favorite but mom jeans looks actually horrible and shows off belly fat more roundly from front IMHO laugh out loud
i can't pull off high waist jeans either. mostly bc they are cut for ppl who have hips/butt and a smaller waist - NOT me. my butt area would be saggy. i love low waist bootcut!! i like some slimmer leg jeans too, but i find it hard to do any kind of skinny jean bc my calves get really constricted.

i may have to try these love jeans. i loved the low5 bootcut. my favorite vs jean cut (followed by the pencil jean). tho lately it's been hit or miss.

I received return confirmation emails on Sunday. When should the money show up in my account?

Quote from Tizzylicious :
That's a podium topic ....I'm skerrrdd of that place. :coverlaf :
I wouldn't dare venture there. EEK! I try to avoid controversial topics as much as possible.

Quote from ayoungpretender :
That isn't fun, burns are always awful. Often the most superficial ones are the most painful. If you think that is a bad burn, never get into welding and fabrication. I had an accident with a plasma torch and had over 2 square inches of skin just gone with a 2nd degree burn in fractions of a second. I'm really clumsy though.
A clumsy welder doesn't sound like a good combination. laugh out loud

I loathe holding a blow dryer. Years ago, I bought a Seen on TV item, Hair Made Hair Dryer Stand, from CVS. It is an adjustable stand that you velco your hair dryer on, so you have both hands free.

Looks somewhat like this...http://www.amazon.com/Height-Adju...B006YB6TG8
This is awesome. I need to look for one. It takes about 45 minutes to dry my hair completely. That's the reason it rarely gets curled. I just let it air dry on the go.

Quote from CrazyCatJade :
Thanks :hug : I haven't been selling a ton on eBay, but I've made a few hundred this last 2 weeks without really trying. Anything helps right now!

We have some cash in our savings, but after the 3 months I was just off of work, it's really low. We're also just starting 401k's (late in life - I know!) and trying to get a down payment together for a house. Being in your late 20's seems like everything is JUST out of reach, and when you can brush it with your fingertips, a strong wind comes and blows it away again.

I guess it makes you work harder? :lol :
From everything you've posted, it sounds like you all are in really good financial shape for your age. Unfortunately, it took my DH & I too long to grow up & realize we needed to prepare for the future. If only life allowed do-overs. I would literally buy my DS 5 pair of $100 shoes all in the same size, when he was a preschooler. If Michael Jordan came out with new shoes or merchandise, I thought he had to have it. I bought so much that Finish Line would call me to let me know they got in something new, so I could be the first to get it. Facepalm All of his other clothes came from high end department stores. I also spent thousands on Pokeman cards & merchandise. Now I realize how stupid that was. I wish we'd been as smart as you guys at that age.

Quote from Taryn :
We're both still in grad school--he just defended his Master's thesis a couple weeks ago and is looking for a job--and I have two years to go, so everything seems like it takes so much longer (and our incomes are obviously super modest). We're trying to save for a down payment while getting a somewhat decent rate on rent. But we'll both have student loans, etc., to pay off eventually so it just seems never-ending. We'll be getting married in late 2014, so it's not like we have to figure out home-owning and other "adult" stuff right now, but we like to get a head start.

It's easy to get frustrated and overwhelmed, I think. Everything costs money and life always throws curveballs. We're both in our mid-to-late 20s, so it's the "phase" of life, too, where everything seems just out of reach. :hug :
At least, you're setting yourself up well for the future. That's really important.

Quote from azn1x6flame :
I think what makes it even more frustrating is that even though I'm going to start a life with my DBF a few more years down the road, he's not overly concerned and makes more than enough to pay off his student loans easily, but it's getting done sooo slowly. Not that I'm one to talk with my shopping - at least I get deals, he just willy nilly dishes out full price for things that can be had for much cheaper! :faint : I can't wait until we start getting our finances in line for the future, but of course, I'm more frugal and he complains about not being able to be like my lavish friends, which I'm fine with, but let's see..take overseas vacation..or pay off student loans... Course he goes with the vacation when he can pay off loans and then take more vacations in the future!! :rolleyes : And it pisses me off that he keeps telling me to take vacations when I just want to save my money! GRR! Sorry! /rant.
I agree with the other girls. It's better if you're on the same page, when it comes to spending. Too many marriages fail over money issues. Marriage can be hard enough. Adding financial disagreements to the mix is a recipe for disaster. Don't let that happen to you. hug

Quote from ALVSGIRLY :
We haven't had a real vacation in 5 years. He works all the time. These little trips I take are me and ds tagging along on business trips. They're fun but not a vacation. I'm beat by the time we get home. We'll see if we get to go on one this summer :lo l:.

Dh drives me crazy shopping. Bless his heart, he doesn't know how to :lol :.
You all need to plan a family vacation. They're where the best memories are made. Everyone is relaxed & focused on each other. I hope you can talk your DH into taking off & taking you all somewhere this year. Smilie

Quote from annicus :
reminds me - i'm starting to look at where to go for my honeymoon!!! :whee : any suggestions ladies? everything is astronomically expensive. when a night's stay costs $2k it kinda makes the $10 i save here or there seem useless.
$2k/night! EEK! What places are you looking at? To me, the best place for a honeymoon is somewhere low-key where you can spend time together w/o distractions. I think something like a cruise to Hawaii & Tahiti would be nice, but your fiance may not enjoy that.

Quote from azn1x6flame :
For your honeymoon! Anywhere you wanna go? What kind of honeymoon are you looking for? I wanna try one of those hotel huts in Bali or somewhere with ocean like the Caribbeans or something! But some people like the poshness of Europe. I guess if you're going to stay on a hotel in the canals of Venice like the one on The Tourist...But you said you've been to Europe already...
Staying on the canals in Venice sounds very romantic. I'd love to do that someday. I can imagine it would be terrifying for someone afraid of water though.

In regards to your question, I am an elite member (I believe this means because I am pre-existing folica.com member or purchased items in the past from this site) who receives free shipping with any purchase. Great incentive to become an elite member. hth.

I found two Kerastase hair care products on sale. The Kerastase Age Premium Bain Substantiff Shampoo [folica.com] (Reg. $27.95) 8.5 oz is $14.00 and this Kerastase Soleil Lait Richesse [folica.com] (Reg. $30) 6.8 oz is $15.00. A great deal for both after coupon and fs.

If you are a shoprunner.com member, buy two 16 oz Philosophy shower gels [beauty.com] (choose from tinsel town or mulling spices) @ $8 each, free 8 oz Philosophy field of flowers lotion through your personal beauty.com email link, and 3 free samples for $16 oop. Don't forget cashback sites. : )
Thanks for the links. Do you recommend the Kerastase products? I still haven't placed an order, but I'm definitely going to. Teehee

Apparently, it is normal for people to congratulate you for buying a new car. All I keeping thinking as they do is "congratulations for a car payment???"
I'm opposed to the idea of a car payment too. It is exciting to get a new car though. People are just happy for you to have gotten yourself a car you can depend on.

nod the timing is perfect to go to the southern hemisphere for a beach vacay - it's not summer there yet (summers get really rainy and hot and humid - dbf will likely HATE that) but since it's a tropical island it'll be warm with warm waters. if i go to fiji i'll probably stop over in sydney or something - never been!

laugh out loud if they do that i will have to place yet ANOTHER order.

i ordered robe (needed to use the other bday code they sent me anyway) and emailed asking if i could get the tote added to my order yesterday. hopefully i can - i actually like that tote! anything that's not pink i end up liking... Crazy

noticed they have another new bra, the knockout. wireless pushup - looks like they brought back that bendy flexible "wire" they used to have in some of their bras! i loved that thing! ordered 1 to try tho i prob should have just tried it on in store.
It is already working online?
