I don't really want a mini. I want one that's 2 to 3 inches above my knee. Usually, skirts that are mini on most people are the right length for me. That's the reason I was asking about minis. I thought that was what the rest of you shorties were ordering. laugh out loud Which skirt do you recommend, since I'm only ordering 1? I may try the cheap mini too, but I also want one that looks a little dressy to wear with nice tops for a more dressed up look. Unless the cheap one looks nice & is flattering, that is. If it can be paired with a nice top to look dressy, I'm all for cheap. Teehee

Thanks for the skirt info. I'll try a 4. I'm guessing I should order a small in the cheap mini.
I'm a 2 or a 4. The problem I have with 2 sometimes is they're too small for my waist, but great for my butt and hips. With 4 sometimes I can't fill the butt/hip area. I have tried on the cheap knit skirt, and the XS works for me since the waist is stretchy. The S is too big on the hips. The fabric on that one is great. I ended up not buying though, just because I have other minis anyway that don't get much use.

You may be right about hair texture. My hair does roll easily & holds well, but only with a lot of prep. It's too straight for a flat iron though. I get that look naturally. laugh out loud It does have body, which may help with curl. One thing I noticed is you bought a set with all big rollers. I can't use all big rollers & achieve & maintain curl. I use the smallest on the front (what would be bangs on those with bangs). I separate the rest to have a top layer & a bottom layer. On the top, I use the medium size rollers. On the bottom layer, I use the big ones. I use all of the small ones & usually use all of the medium size. Sometimes, I have a few of the largest size left, but not always. I have a lot of hair to roll though. This is with the Babyliss set like azn bought. I hope you girls find the method that works best for your hair soon. At least, it's fun to experiment. Smilie
i wanted to clarify my statement earlier - when i said flat iron, i meant curl hair with flat iron - that holds REALLY well.

thanks for sizing tips! your zig zag fit me like that - tight on waist and loose on hips. so i returned it. did you try the mini i linked a couple pages back? i got that in a 2 and it was loose on me (i think it's low-waisted which is why the tight waist wasn't a problem). it was definitely a mini on me.

i kept the black & white zigzag in 4. i originally ordered a 2, and i think it fits better on me, but i'm afraid to waste my money by having it not fit if i gain a few pounds.

which mini, the zigzag? no i have not tried that.

i think it was sort of zigzag-gy animal print (but all black so the animal print part is subtle). i kinda regret returning it now. i liked it! maybe i can try a 0...

Bonk I still have mine to trade you! But you never told me if you needed them before Memorial Day or not. laugh out loud Let me know Smilie

:w ave: How do you measure hair? Mine at longest ever which is just past below shoulder little above bra band :lo l: but i would like ot measure it : )
I use a tape measure. You know those that are flimsy and roll and un-roll easily. I measure from back of head down and just let the tape measure fall and look in the mirror for the measurement on the tape nod
Quote from GoHeels :
That's a bummer about your hair. My hair is really long, so I doubt yours is too long. (I'm embarrassed to admit how long mine is at the moment. :blu shSmilie For lasting curls, I have to do prep work. I also use all sizes of rollers. I only use the largest rollers on the bottom row. I use hairspray liberally, after styling. It sounds like a lot to achieve curl, but I get better, lasting curls with hot rollers than any other method. I've tried everything. My hair is too straight to achieve curl, without heat. A curling iron will work almost as well, but it takes more time & wears my arm out. I hope you figure it out. Practice makes perfect. I've been rolling mine since middle school.
I will try with product one of these days! If I need it for going out or something. Could also be because I'm using it for the first time ever and am not sure. Maybe I over packed the curlers or something.

I can't imagine hair longer. Mine is soo heavy out of the shower! I'm trying all these out before I get it cut!

Quote from nerdgirl :
i don't remember how long your hair is! did they rollers feel stuffed when you clipped them? or did they seem ok? i haven't tried since my haircut but i usually can't fit all my hair into the set. and it falls out for me too, even with product - but for the first 3-4 hours it falls into a really nice voluminous body that my friend keeps complimenting.

and :w hee: yay for finally trying out everything! let me know if you figure out the fat curling wand. i gave up on it for the time being (and went back to my fat curling iron :l ol: ).

it's possible azn and my hair won't work as well with those hot rollers as our asian hair may be a different texture. i.e. it's hard for my hair to hold a curl - currently it's flat iron or clipless wand > curling iron > hot rollers as far as curl hold for me. i tried hot rollers with product (putting product in before and after) and it still didn't stay.
You just saw me! Bonk I thought with rollers, hair was supposed to be flat on the rollers, but I watched a few videos and that was not the case. So yeah, kind of stuffed because I was trying to roll up big sections. I tried to do thinner rolls on some sections around the face with the hair above the ears and...those fell out first. I'm not sure what's going on.

I have the same hair snagging problem on the Remington! I LOOOVE how it heats up so quickly and how fat it is - just like my curling iron. I don't have a problem with the snagging when I put the hair in, just when I'm taking the hair out. I only tried a section and came to report on the snagging Mad I'm gonna try my whole head now, but I agree with your ranking of holding curl, but I'd stick my curling method for beachy waves before hot rollers nod

I don't think I can pull off animal print anything anymore! At least for the visible clothes. Bras are okay laugh out loud I've been on the fence about whether to sell this cheetah print clutch for a long time now. I haven't used it, bought it years ago...but still can't let it go shake head

i can't imagine how it would snag when you take your hair out. don't you just loosen your hair then slide the curler out?

I offered the tiered for you as well, but wasn't sure if you needed it before Memorial Day cause I wanted to look at some shirts for DBF, but like I said I don't NEED it if you'd want it before then Smilie I'm assuming they might have Memorial Day sales or something Dontknow

I did my whole head just now and nope, it gets caught. Then I have to twist the curler in the opposite direction that my hair is caught to release it. Probably because the length of my hair. It's getting caught between the handle and that little stand thing they put in there. I tried slipping it out from the top, which solves the problem sometimes, but it's still getting caught. It's manageable, but could be a lot easier to use if they sealed that crevice and removed the leg stand or something

I don't have a flat iron, so I've never tried that. I'll have to get one of my nieces to roll my hair for me with theirs.

I'm sure rolling it will get easier with practice.

I have to use extra large towels to cover my hair out of the shower. It's too long for a regular bath towel. I really need a haircut. Embarrassment

My hair snags on some curling irons too. I hate it when that happens.
