Open-back tank [victoriassecret.com], S, white - I was really excited about this after a good review and with my new-found love of open-back styles I thought I'd give it a try. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the package was the fabric feels GROSS. It is woven polyester and feels overly synthetic and not comfortable. The white is totally see-through too. I put it on and it was huge in the waist and pretty much everywhere but the bust, which caused it to gap awkwardly in the back.
Chain cowlneck cami [victoriassecret.com], S, misty grey - This was cheap enough that I figured I'd give it a try. Like the last top, I didn't realize it was polyester when I ordered it, but it is a very soft, slinky knit, so I think I'll let that slide. I found this top extremely flattering. I'm always afraid cowlneck styles are going to look bad because I'm busty, but this looks good. It ripples a little bit at the bust, but with the drapey front, it doesn't look bad. The back is racerback style and The chain detail really dresses it up. I will probably get another one of these.
Lace halter dress [victoriassecret.com], M, rose dream - It fit well, but there were a bunch of issues. First, the ruffles at the bust looked ridiculous on me. This is cut lower in front than it appears in the photo. It was also very short on me too, the outer lace layer came to mid-thigh, but the solid under layer was about two inches shorter. Too much leg and too much cleavage in a body-hugging style is not a look I am comfortable with. It is low cut in the back to so bra options are limited.
VS Pencil Pant [victoriassecret.com], 10, black - I like these. They fit well and have center seams down the front and back, which I feel is very flattering. I wish they were higher rise in back and lower in the front. They also don't have back pockets, which, if they didn't look so good, would be a deal-killer since I hate having to carry a purse.
I know there were a few other item I thought were worth reviewing, but I can't think of them right now...
i liked those pants too! they were slightly tight on the legs for me (the pencil pant without seams fits my large calves better) so i sent them back but they're def nice! now i'm rethinking the decision to return them.
Also noticed some things at VS dropped in price if anyone needs to pa!
I've had to return a lot lately too. I'm just hoping they don't eventually change their policy, because of it. They created the problem. If their sizes were more consistent, we wouldn't have to return so much. Good luck finding the right bra. The DA demi fits me perfectly. I didn't like the DA full coverage bra quite as much. The VS full coverage fits me better than the DA full coverage.
Did you ladies see the new prices for Supermodel Essentials? If you wear a lot of black clothing (like I do) the pants are now $62 (were $49.50) and the hoodies are $78 (were $59.50) $140 for a lounge / casual outfit?? Come on.
The colors other than black and blue (my two faves
Your dbf should have been proud to let us see him with such a hot looking fiance.
I'm going to try the ruffle front dress in that print, if it doesn't sell out, before I order. I'd try the dress you have, but I plan to buy several colors in the other strapless dress. That dress looked great on you.
How much would I need to spend at Express to qualify for FS on all orders? Do returns get subtracted from the accumulative FS total? Would they take it away, if I returned enough to put me under the required total? Is it grandfathered in or do you have to spend that much every year? I'm sure I'd spend enough to qualify each year, but it would be nice to have FS from the beginning of the year & not have to qualify yearly. Sorry for asking so many questions.
...
yes, you should try the ruffle dress! i hope that works for you - it's such a pretty summer print! and i remember you don't like strapless dresses as much.
for express - you need 7500 points to qualify for a-list. if you have their cc (the only way to get FS on all orders) you get 15 points per $, so it translates to $500. there are also point specials that could help you get there (i.e. the 1000 extra points for making purchases during a short period in april). you do lose points if you make returns, and once you have the card and everything, make sure they properly credit your points account - i've had to call in to have them added manually multiple times. i think this worked to my advantage, however, because when i called the first time to add points, it was for 3 huge orders, after which i qualified for a-list. the girl manually changed my a-list status right then and there, and returns have not affected it. (i'm not sure if my returns have dropped me below the 7500 points total tho - i don't think they have)
i was just reading up about the a-list status yesterday - it says once you qualify for a-list in 1 year, you get a-list status for that year and for the following year.
oh, i also wanted to share that i went to do returns yesterday (it was a bigger pain yesterday - the girl had to get all the returns "verified" by a manager, who didn't really do much other than try to get me to buy some of their clearance items
also, kurpee - i tried on the lurex sweater [express.com] in xs and i liked it! the currant color is so pretty with the subtle sparkle. that's all i tried on.
I got this [victoriassecret.com]maxi skirt. Way too long! It fits underneath my breast and still grazes the floor--and I'm 8 mons preggo!
