Grand Prize: (1 winner) Trip for two to the SETI Institute in Mountain View, California. Winner and guest will tour the institute and meet the scientists who are working on SETI's mission to explore, understand and explain the origin, nature and prevalence of life in the universe. Winner and guest will then travel to the Hat Creek Observatory near Redding, California, for an overnight stay at the Allen Telescope Array. The prize consists of round trip coach air travel for two people from the major commercial airport closest to winner's residence; standard double-occupancy accommodations for 5-nights; use of a rental car (subject to all car rental agency qualifications and restrictions); and $500 spending money. (ARV $3,500). Actual value will be determined by winner's residence and seasonal rates. Expenses not specified will be winner's responsibility. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability and certain restrictions; black out dates may apply. Winner or one of winner's guests must be 25 years of age or older and must have a valid U.S. driver's license in his/her state of residency, appropriate motor vehicle insurance, and a major credit card to secure the rental car. Optional services or items such as refueling or loss or damage waiver (LDW) are extra. Air carriers, hotels and other transportation selected by Sponsor. Winner and guest must travel on the same itinerary and will be responsible for all necessary travel authorizations, for any travel insurance and for all trip expenses not specified. Grand Prize winner's guest, or a parent if guest is a minor, must complete a liability/publicity release prior to issuance of travel documents. Trip must be completed at time to be determined by Sponsor prior to December 31, 2012, or prize will be forfeited in its entirety.
First Prize: (1 winner) A swag prize pack consisting of Science Channel and SETI merchandise, including T-shirts, a mug, a poster, a Cogno board game, and Through the Wormhole Seasons 1 and 2 on DVD. (ARV $137)
Second Prize: (1 winner) Associate Membership for one year in Team SETI (ARV $100)
