How does this set sound? I am trying to replace my old Infinity TSS-1200, whose sub is broken, with this. I also need these black ones to match my tv and tv stand. Any feedback is much appreciated.
I have three sets of HKTS 20 (lesser model) and they sound great for the price range. Several of my friends that have heard the system ended up buying them also. Hard to beat the price for the sound quality.
Tempting! Does anyone know how the bass is on this setup? I had an old Sony set up that would shake your walls. Then when I upgraded I bought the best that sony had to offer 10 years ago around $1k and it sounds amazing just no bass. So time to upgrade.
Quick question, I have a 7.1 prewired. Can I buy these and eventually upgrade to 7.1 or would it be a lot easier to buy a 7.1 directly. I am only looking for decent quality and normal price range. Thanks in advance

since ur looking into a "all in one" system, its better to buy a set that includes all the speakers u need so that the sound matches
if u have the funds, buying individual speakers from the same series is the best way to go

I bought HTKS 16 ten years ago and the sound was amazing. I guess HTKS 16 is lesser model so HTKS 30 should sound better or at least the same. I drove them with Harman/Kardon AVR which was just 50 watts per channel and the sound was simply beautiful and they could get really loud if I wanted them to. I'm still amazed how those small speakers could reproduce such big sound. I think you won't be disappointed
HK sure does suck at explaining the difference between the 16, 20 and 30s.
Edit: Just compared the specs for the 16s and these 30s side by side and I see absolutely no difference. Both have dual 3" drivers, a 3/4" tweeter and the same sub. So the only difference appears to be the design (which I prefer the 16s over the 30s) and about $100 premium for the 30s for no discernible good reason.
I brought HKTS16 last time when it was on sale. It is truly amazing audio system. I have been waiting to get HKTS30 for my media room since then. This is a great deal for the price.

Can you explain to us why you'd pay the $100 premium for the 30s? I'm not seeing what justifies the price difference.

So, how are they, what was the price, and do you know how they compare to this set?
