Petrol hit a new record high today in the UK of 140 pence per liter. Worked out to gallons and dollars, that's $8.41 per gallon.

BTW, UK has huge taxes to discourage people from using gas. But has it's own oil. Remember BP? British Petroleum. How could one forget?

Also California gas is always going to be more expensive because we have the strictest rules for gasoline, so it burns cleaner than other states, mostly due to LA (not sure how long you've lived in California, but LA used to be extremely hazy back in the early 90's I believe, and then CARB did something about it, so it's much better now).
Because of our clean air requirements, we have the most expensive gas in the nation (usually..exempt from some local gas stations that think they can charge $5+ because there's no state law regulating it).

Who says anyone here in is debt
Who says anyone here is rich poor folks - oxymoron statement
A lot of assumptions you are making
Though we are able to slip over the bridge to NJ, for a few cents less a gallon, if you go over the bridges that don't cost you any money; and happen to be going over there for a reason
