What do you guys do once you have the card for a month or two and you already got your $300?

Do you guys just sit on the card and never use it again or do you cancel them?

I have AMAZING credit and NO debt at all! I would love to start taking advantage of these deals but I'm not sure the best way to do it without hurting my credit.

If you keep it, it has no impact except the initial credit inquiry during the application. If you cancel it, it will impact for a limited time, I think 6-12 month. Keeping it will actually help your credit since it increases your credit ratio. But if you don't plan to use your credit for anything, who cares if it drops 5-30 points, since it will rise back up in a year or so. If you plan on buying a house or a car, then I would not even attempt this.

I'm a college student and I've never had a credit card before. Only have a debit card. I've been planning on getting a credit card soon but wasn't sure when to jump in. Will it hurt me in any way by jumping on this offer and what's the chances of me getting approved?

Canada does it too for the record, also I love this card.

Amazon gift cards are currently 10% off too so technically you could turn that $300 into $330.
I think the 10% off ended April 1st.

Much better to leave idle cards open rather than closing (score is a function of utilized credit vs available credit -- closing a card reduces available credit)

You're report and score will take a minor hit on any hard inquiry but if you limit it to one or two a year it will be negligible and roll off. Biggest thing is to not make your report look like you're credit shopping and seeing who will accept you.

I'm considering applying. How easy is it to get approved? My credit score is ~700. However, my income is very low because I only work part-time because I'm a student.

I'm no expert in credit score, but your credit score will go down initially because of the 'hard' credit inquiry. But in the long run, having a credit card is good as long as you pay the full balance on time. Your debt to credit ratio will decrease when you have more credit cards (and you don't use them often!)

I've got some Credit cards with CB and after I received initial CB, I've kept them lying there. I use them occasionally so they won't cancel my card. My credit score was not hurt. But you should not cancel old credit cards because it will hurt your credit score. These cards have no annual fee, so nothing to lose.

My wife and I got this offer previously and have already received our bonus points. We both got Amazon.com at 10% off... so like $330 of Amazon credit each ($660 total!). Good deal.

I also had an Amazon.com credit card and that wasn't a problem.

I take advantage of the 5% bonus earnings each quarter. I also enjoy unlimited 1% on all other purchases. The fact that they do not cap earnings is a plus. Also no annual fee. This is about the best card out there on a day to day basis. I found out the other day that some Wal-Mart Stores will show up as a grocery store and you can get 5% back when they are paying 5% on grocery stores (right now they are) but check your store first with a small purchase. I buy gift cards and then pump the gas with 3 cent per gallon reduction for using gift card and then I also get the 5% up to $1500 this quarter. Nothing beats what I just described for payback.
