I'm considering applying. How easy is it to get approved? My credit score is ~700. However, my income is very low because I only work part-time because I'm a student.
I'm in the same situation as you..grad student working part time as a coop but good credit score. I got instantly approved so its worth a shot!
I have the same question. Anyone done this before?
Hope this helps:
Back in Dec '11 I cancelled my Chase Freedom Card. A little over a month later I applied for this deal, got the typical wait-for-review message after hitting submit, and days later received a letter stating that I already have a chase freedom account. Funny thing is they gave the last 4 digits of the account and they do not match my previous account. So I called in and they said you have to wait at least a few months and try again. In Feb '12 I checked my credit reports and they do not show any inquiries done by Chase...that's a good thing. Fast forward to today...I just reapply and got instant approval! I thought I read somewhere that they will not give you the $300 though they will send you the card...not sure though. I'm saving the screenshots so fingers are crossed. Thanks OP!

From terms & conditions
This one-time bonus offer is valid only for first-time cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer.
I'm a college student and I've never had a credit card before. Only have a debit card. I've been planning on getting a credit card soon but wasn't sure when to jump in. Will it hurt me in any way by jumping on this offer and what's the chances of me getting approved?
I'm going to say that your chance of getting approve is zero. I used to work at Sears and tried to apply for a Sears CC (would have been my first CC) so I could take a few bucks off a purchase but got denied. That was because I had no credit history. Had to get one through my bank to establish some history. I suggest that you do the same. Chase offer this promotion once every few months so you'll see this again.
Dang just applied yesterday for the $200 offer. Approved!!!
Still I want the extra $100.
Just call the customercare and tell them about the offer. If they have a similar offer within 30 days period, they will give the benefit to the customer...So call them and ask for addition $100
can a person who already has chase freedom apply for this?
The following quote from the details page of the offer should answer your question. " This one-time bonus offer is valid only for first-time cardmembers with new accounts. Previous and existing cardmembers/accounts are not eligible for this bonus offer."

Amazon gift cards are currently 10% off too so technically you could turn that $300 into $330.

But if you are buying the house with cash then go for it.
Well if you activate the 5% bonus spend $500 on groceries in the next 3 months you'll get your $300 plus an extra $25
Still I want the extra $100.
EDIT: Nigerian scam or not, I still clicked and applied and got instant approval. Thanks and
