Yeah, where did you get that number from? I am not seeing it anywhere.

NOTICE!

I have edited this post and deleted my previous text.

According to a Senior Account rep at Chase, the phone number 800-795-6307 and website links are Chase and NOT a scam.

After having the first Chase rep tell me it WAS a scam and not their number, I have just talked to a Senior Account Rep and was told that this is their phone number and is not a scam.

The Senior Account Rep was extremely apologetic and knowledgeable.

Sorry for the false alarm.

WARNING!

I just called Chase and this is a known scam. The website is NOT Chase nor is the phone number (800) 795-6307. They take your information and apply for the card for you but now they have your SS# and all your information.

The rep I talked said they are well aware of this 30,000 points scam. They have no such offer. She said that if you keep the offer code and a screenshot of the offer they will extend you the offer if you call them after you are approved.

If you did apply, you should keep an eye on your accounts and that no new accounts are being taken out in your name.

Here is the actual Chase phone number I called to get this info: Inside the U.S.
1-800-432-3117
The only number I would call is the number on the back of the card.

When I got my card last month, I called in to activate. The rep did confirm the bonus.

Freedom is an awesome general use card - the cashback for the 1st quarter was 5% back on all gas / amazon.com purchases and this quarter is 5% back on groceries. Lot of savings for most folks. I use it on on almost all day to day purchases. $300 cashback after $500 spent for signing up and no annual fee is crazy good.

Sapphire Preferred is a great traveler card. No foreign transaction fees and 2% back on all dining and travel related spending. They also let you use have an extra 20% in points for travel spending through their rewards page and give you a 7% annual dividend on earned points. I use it only on dining / travel. Sapphire has a $500 cashback sign up bonus (after spending $5k/3months). The card is physically made of a titanium blend (confirmed when asking CS), no CC#'s on front, and kind of heavy in weight which some folks may find "cool". First year fees are waived but it does carry a fee on years after if you decide to hold on to it.
1) I agree. Great general use card. The kicker is with an open checking account you get another 10 point bonus on each purchase. In essence, 100 transactions is a free 10$. So sometimes if I want a pack of gum.. viola. January-March was perfect. I pretty much get gas/amazon as my main purchasing. These 3 months, ill be buying safeway gift cards (to use for gas) and then I shop at the Super Walmart for groceries. Lots of good money again.

2) I want to get this card. My friend has it and I just like the feel/weight of it. Turns heads. I would use it when I go out occasionally for the girl of the week. Right now, I get out my Capitol One customized card lol. But really... I want to get that card. Does it require an extremely high credit score? I am about 690 right now... have 4 open credit lines, one with Chase as the Freedom card.

Called the status line today...I've been approved. Now I need to call and see if they'll bump me up to the $350 offer.

EDIT: They bumped me up. This is awesome. Spending $500 will be easy, and worst case, I run a business, so I can just charge it to myself.

Awesome job! Now you need the Ink Bold for your business to start really enjoying the benefits of UR.

Congrats.

I guess I'm new to all these cash back offers but when I call that 800-795-6307 and press button #2 to check application status (I haven't applied yet, just testing) it asks me for my social security number right off the bat. Red flag for me. Then I tried calling again and tried pressing button #3 to talk to customer service and it said to call the number on the back of my credit card then it said goodbye and it hung up on me. Red flag again.

I talked to actual Chase phone number Inside the U.S. 1-800-432-3117 from the Chase website and one CSR said yes its' legit but the second CSR said she thinks it isn't legit after she tried calling it.

I really want this offer but am going to pass on this one until I get an offer that takes me to the chase.com site.

As I am new to these cash back offers my question is;

Are the offers for these cash back kind of like legitimate offers but "pirated" links (the link, not just the 800#) to the legit chase site for cash back offers that are not available to the general public?

Thanks for your input.

It's legit from what I was told as I stated above. IF it was a scam, they would still apply for a card in your name and you would get the card and all would look good on your end except now the scammers would have your info.

If Chase saw a ton of apps for people in the US coming from an IP address in the Philippines or Nigeria, I assume they would know something was up.

In any event, the Chase Senior Account Rep I talked to checked the phone number and said that it is in her records to transfer customers to for application.

The Chase Senior rep did tell me that they have problems with deal type sites spreading offers that are either expired or don't exist. I also read her the url of the web app page in this thread and she said it was a Chase application site.

She added that the previous CSR that told me it was a scam was going to have some "further training".
