I went to the poll today to cast my vote on the NC Marriage Amendment [politico.com]. As expected, there were a lot of lesbians against the amendment standing outside the polling place. None of them were hot. Not one. Just a whole bunch of greying, shabbily dressed, hairy legged women with signs. It seems like the lesbian community could have put on a much better display to influence public opinion outside the polls.
No lipstick. No kissing. All in all a big disappointment.

Today is my 20th wedding anniversary .... and to a really great guy ... but here's the thing. If I have to deal with the snoring and the extra laundry and countless hours of sports on television and empty toilet paper rolls and taking the trash to the curb myself because he forgot, AGAIN! ..... then I think everyone should have a right to that "sweetheart deal".
If it's going to cost me $20,000 to get rid of him (if I ever choose to do so), then I think everyone should have to pay to play "chuck a spouse", too. No more of this "we want equal rights for our partners" crap and then changing partners 6 months later. You're either in or you're out. And if you're out, you should have to go through the baggage and financial screwing that the lawyers and judges bestow upon the rest of us.
Just sayin........
Yeah, why should the straight couples be the only ones who are miserable and can't just walk away.
who should it be made up to is a much bigger scope of a question, but theoretically some of that extra money they're being taxed is getting filtered back in to the markets they're taking away from by living together.
I'm always amazed at how the liberal mind works....

But that's really not important here.
Here are couple things we can both agree on;
Keep religion out of government.
There is no logical reason to keep homosexuals from marrying.
For someone to claim moral superiority, by fighting to keep two people from expressing their love for each other through marriage, is truely reprehensible.
more to the point, how, exactly, do i think regarding taxes?
'At a certain point I've just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married,' the president said.
Obama claims the change is a personal one only, and that he he still believes the issue of gay marriage should be left up to the states.
Currently, six states allow gay couples to wed and 30 states have constitutional amendments explicitly banning it.
Obama said his daughters and their friends were a major reason he changed his mind about gay marriage.
'You know, Malia and Sasha, they have friends whose parents are same-sex couples. There have been times where Michelle and I have been sitting around the dinner table and we're talking about their friends and their parents and Malia and Sasha, it wouldn't dawn on them that somehow their friends' parents would be treated differently,' he said.
'It doesn't make sense to them and frankly, that's the kind of thing that prompts a change in perspective.'
Obama had been under intense pressure to clarify his view toward gay marriage after Vice President Joe Biden publicly supported it on Sunday.
