How do I get pale again?

10,633 2,427 June 9, 2012 at 01:07 PM in Sad
Ok, so summer has started and I have been playing lots more tennis, I mean lots, avg. 10+ hours a week, and even using sunblock I have went up a good 5 shades, I am Chinese suppose to be lighter/light skin, yellow if you wanna say, now I look dark as some of the Hispanic people out there. Anything I can do? My parents get md at me for this b/c they say girls won't like me as I am so dark and stuff, and they always tell me to not play tennis although I do anyway. Anyway, any advice how to reverse this?

You should see my torso, it's white/yellow while my arms and legs are brown.
Maybe you should play tennis without your shirt on? Then you wouldn't have the farmer tan.

That tan line isn't too great.

And over the summer I should be hitting the gym some more. So I should slim down more.

Didn't want to get in trouble for copyright you know...

Honestly, I think your color looks awesome. Please don't do anything stupid to your skin in an attempt to "whiten" it. Embrace your tan, it works for you. Smilie

Your mirror on the other hand could benefit from a little windex and a paper towel. laugh out loud

Ok, thanks for the comment. Either way, I wouldn't go to the extremes of bleaching, not into cosmetic fixtures. If anything I will stay inside more and put on more clothing, although it is hitting the 100s outside.

Unless turning on your parents is a big deal for you I wouldn't waste any time worrying about it.

Well, I'm with Kristin on this one, but one thing you could try is wearing long-sleeved compression "heatwear" shirts. Under Armor is best known for them, but I usually buy the cheap Champion ones at Walmart. They'll block the sun and still let you stay cool when you're playing.

I do long-distance bike rides, so I'm in the sun most of the day sometimes, and I wear those shirts because I'm too lazy to put sunblock on my arms and this way I don't create a layer of sunblock on my car's armrests as the summer goes on.

The tan isn't even that dark. Telling you to stop getting exercise which is good for you for something as stupidly superficial as the shade of your skin tone is, well, stupid. I hope you can see that. Please keep playing tennis, it's good for you.

Your innocence is endearing (that's a compliment). Glad you got your mirror cleaned. laugh out loud

If you stay out of the sun, eventually your skin will return back to normal. Personal experience and know plenty of others who've tanned because they stayed out in the sun too much.

I stayed out in the sun too long one day last summer and got a mild burn on my chest in the shape of the neckline on my shirt. That stupid farking tan line is still there this year - it's faded, but it's there. My skin sucks. laugh out loud

Yea, that is some people I guess, I don't burn, I can say that for sure. I only get darker. IDK why, like why can't I be like some of the Caucasian people, where their skin peels off and you can actually see it. With mine, idk if I even generate new skin as I never see the shedding.
