RETIRED: *Official* iPod Sweepstakes talk & OFF TOPIC talk! ****NEW iPODS ADDED**** Including new shuffles, nanos, classic & touch!

18,325 14,729 March 21, 2007 at 03:18 PM in Chat (17)
This thread has been retired and locked, preserving it for reference. The new thread can be found here.

**NOW OFFERING** IPS gives you $75 Click to enlarge

1gb shuffles - 1000 points
$75 iTunes gift card - 1000 points
4gb nanos - 2000 points
80gb classic - 3000 points
urlhasbeenblocked - 4000 points
iPhone - 5000 points

This has nothing to do with deals. Thought I would make a thread to talk about IPS and off topic chatting so we can't get in trouble.

Well hows everyone doing?
Almost 2k points.

Now IPS is one of the greatest sites to earn and win ipods for free ( or almost free )

SOME COMMON FAQs

Do I have to use my real address and phone number?
NO! You can get a virtual phone number or use your favorite Burger King, McD, etc.

Should I make a new email address?
This is a definite YES. Make a free yahoo, gmail etc. Hotmail has problems. You will be getting THOUSANDS of spam emails.

Why won't my farking points credit, it's been over a week?
If you are having trouble getting certain offers to credit, (most of us do) you can email IPS [email protected]

I just cashed out for an IPOD, does it really take a long agonizing 4-6 weeks?
Well, NO, most of us have received our IPODS within 1-2 weeks and sometimes sooner!

I didn't get a confirmation email/shipping email, will I still get my iPod?

YES, you will. I sometimes don't get either email and still get the iPod days later

If you win a shuffle from the daily drawing, you'll receive it approximately 3 weeks after you get the notification. This assumes the following: it takes about 4-5 business days from the time you get the notification and IPS getting your documents by mail, they take about 1 week to process your win (from my experience), UPS takes one week to ship. They will not automatically send you a tracking number. You can not substitute the win for 1000 pod points (many people have tried and have been denied).

MORE TO COME SOON!!

*Updated* Easy Points for New Users

Sign up bonus = 200 points

True.com Free Trial (easy, cost 1.15, refunded. cancel online) = 152 points

True.com Free Trial round two (make sure u cancel first one and r logged out) = 152 points

Netflix Free Trial (i think theres a holding charge but it doesnt show on my credit card, easy to cancel online) = 136 points

Britannica Online (easy, cancel online) = 56 points

Gottaplay $1 Trial (charges you for a month upfront then refunds if you cancel within 10 days. cancel online) = 84 points

Emusic $.99 Trial (cancel online, easy) = 48 points

so theres 828 points in 20 minutes. you can omit the last two and get ~700 points for free.

notice that this is only current as of this post and the offers can change as the blockbuster offer did. make sure you read before you sign up.
--First of all I suggest you use another email address other than your personal one (hotmail seems to work best) because you will receive a lot of spam in your inbox when you sign up for all these different offers.

--Don't use your real phone number. I got a free online voice mail from http://k7.net/ It will send you an email when you have a voice message, although, I never bothered to listen to them.

--If an offer says you receive a certain amount of points for entering your zip code, that's all you have to do. You can close everything else out (you'll get pop ups.) Same goes for the email address offers.

--I didn't do any offers that required a CC# for a free trial but a friend did (I always forget to cancel the darn things.) She got enough points for a Nano in about 10 days with the free trial offers. I got enough points for a Shuffle in 5 days sticking to just the totally free, no CC# required offers.

--I didn't do any of the free ring tone offers because most tend to charge you through your cell phone carrier. I didn't want to chance being nailed with a fee of $9.99 on my cell bill so I didn't do any of those.

--Make sure you check the email address you used to sign up for your account and the offers (use the same one) because some of the offers require you to confirm through the email they sent. It won't take long before you'll be able to tell what junk mail is and what requires you to confirm.

--I suggest keeping track of all the offers you have completed. That way, if for some reason you don't receive credit, you can contact iPodsweepstakes with the date you completed the offer. They have outstanding customer service and will happily credit you for the offers you didn't receive credit for.

--Don't waste your time emailing them with a question. If you have a problem, question, or concern call them. They don't respond to emails in a very timely manner, but like I said, their phone customer service is incredible.

--Offers usually credit in 5-7 days, some sooner, and some longer.

--Click each link every night to get the max amount of entries into the nightly drawing. You can click the link and close the window before it even pulls the page up. You just have to have clicked the link to receive the credit.

--If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to PM me and ask. I don't mind helping out.

mod edit.. the deal talk thread was closed for fighting, attacks and other stuff. these mega threads are nearly impossible to moderate. you're on your honor here, we see any crap going on here, this will be closed too.

******,

We are in the process of updating our site to include these new items. Please allow us some time to make the changes.

Thank you,

I would suggest everyone to wait a week or so, obviously if you want the new Ipods.

I have an internet phone service, not sure if it is privatephone but the 1 I have wont give you a pin
Dotschools is easy, have it make the call, wait to give it enough time to do the pin, then stop the call, go listen to the message to get the pin, then have it call again and the pin is the same. You might not even have to end the call, I figured you did to make it hang up so the message would end.

I really need someone to help me with the cancellations for shoppers essentials, Valuemax, and at home rewards

For DOT I don't end my call. I have my PrivatePhone email open in a browser tab as I am doing the DOT offer. While they are calling me, I listen to the PIN# and enter it. The screen doesn't time out, and the PIN# arrives right away. And yes, if you are doing two of the DOT offers around the same time, the next PIN#'s will be the same.

Did you use google to search for their information? In the time it took you to type that out you could have found their numbers with google.

Privatephone.net isn't a phone service like Lingo, it's a voicemail only service. You can register to get a free number in any area and check the voicemail online or through the phone. I don't bother checking mine unless I need to because it's all spam. nod

People on this board can be so unhelpful Frown. Yes I searched on google and I couldn't find anything, thats why I asked here. Luckily the confirmation emails with the cancellation info came in today. However, I was charged 4 times instead of 3, for at home rewards, saving smart, shoppers essentials, and value max. I don't know how that happened.

I now have 1048pts, at least those are just the ones they have credited me for, and YES< I keep buggin their butts about all the onees they have not given me credit for. My way of dealiing with them is to send them a copy of the emails that these companies send me showing them that OBviously I signed up or I wouldn't be getting a confirmation email from them.
Still owed to me is 1000pts, I will get them one way or another, then I decided that I woudl try Vonage for the 360pts. so I'll be that much closer to getting to the video player.
This is great, anyone needs some tips on how to get your credit, let me know, I've learned how to get their butts moving. After you send them a message at the helpdesk, give them at least 5days to credit you,

After starting this again and finally sorting through their emails, I've had 6 ITT offers credit today alone. I heart those ones. Turning out to be better than the Ambien offers for me. Smilie
Looking to get another $75 iTunes card. Last time I redeemed for one, they sent me two! Talk about good luck. Evillaugh

I am about 40 points from shuffle #5...something needs to credit!

Now to cancel the shoppers essential or valuemax...wait until you get the welcome email from them. Click on the link to go to the site. Agree to the terms. Then click on my account (or something similar) near the top. Then along the left you click on some that says veiw my membership or membership status. Click and then you will see something to cancel my membership. About 2-3 pages of clicking, make sure you click on the one to cancel, not the one to keep the membership. Simple and you don't have to call.

Definitely. I've gotten a video, shuffle, and 2 $75 iTunes cards without doing any CC offers, so it is possible. I imagine it just takes more patience, though. nod

Very impressive.

I've had a so-so experience with sites that need to have "confirmation" or whatever before they update your points. Is this pretty reliable in terms of "if you complete the offer, you'll get the points.."

Cause I don't want to sit through surverys clicking no, no, no, etc if it won't count!

In my opinion, they're pretty reliable. The offers which don't credit as often are the smaller point email and zip code offers. That can sometimes be frustrating, but if you have any problems being credited, you can ask them to manually credit you. Many people end up doing that (I haven't ever done this, but it seems worth it). By the way, if you're just starting out, you should know that you don't always have to fill out everything completely. I mean to say, if an offer only calls for you to fill out your e-mail or your zipcode, you don't have to go on clicking for pages and pages. nod
