While this is a good deal it is NOT employee pricing. I am an IBM employee and I just priced out the first example:

ThinkPad T60 Core2 Duo T5500, 15.4" WXGA, 1 GB DDR2, 120GB SATA, DVD burner, 3 yr warranty
Regular price $1649, Employee price $1320 Real IBM Employee price $1107

This is still a good deal. IBM (Lenovo) Thinkpads do cost a little more than your Dell and such but they are (in my 15 year experience) a good solid laptop backed by a great warranty.

Thank you very much. It may not be employee pricing but I saved at least $300. Repped.

Oh man! You know the last week sales with the code employee48hour? Would this deal work on top of that code? If that was the case, I missed the greatest deal ever from lenovo. I only used the employee48hour last week when I purchased. Please let me know if this deal would have worked with the employee48hour deal

It probably would've worked, I didn't know of any restrictions on its use. Sometimes there are promotions that can't be combined with shareholder/employee discounts, but I wasn't aware of such restriction with this one. So yeah, you probably could've scored a super sweet deal on a ThinkPad. The employee48hour code expired last Friday though.

Did anyone else get their laptops already?

I ordered and it says that my ship date is 4/13, im hoping that that is an overestimation.

actually, the code did NOT work when using the employee web site. I think this was for friends and families of employees.

you can still get 12% back from that taylor made program and another 3.5% from fatwallet

Well, I don't have Amex. Only ames applies to taylormade program right?

Anyhow, my estimated shipment was 4/11, but i received an email that it has shipped. Customs at US takes couple of days and I should be expecting my item by tomorrow.

Taylormade program is only for AMEX cards, there is a link somewhere that tells you which ones you can use with this program.

Did you custom configure your laptop and what kind was it?
Also, when did you recieve your e-mail? (im trying to gauge if i should call them to check for an update, my order status says "In Process", is this what yours showed?)

I was told that for some reason that the X-series (which i ordered) take a bit longer to build.

The amex deal was supposed to end at the end of last month, but they extended it. I suspect that they will extend it every month for a while.

As far as the employee share holder deal goes, I am an actual shareholder and it did not say an expire date on my form. I dont know what others have gotten.

I think they are spinning you. I ordered a X60 on Friday night before the 15% code expired and it was delivered the following Tuesday. Considering the weekend was in there, that's pretty quick.

Well, I just got mine today. Sweet!!! Love this thing! Only down fall is the pre-installed norton program which slows down my computer so much. Also, there is an issue with lenovo registration thing. that damn thing wouldn't go away even when you register. I got that thing deleted after.

My question is does this come with driver and reinstall cd or dvd? I see only one dvd which says Vista upgrade. What if I want to format and install from scratch?

Yes, mine was custom built - added finger print thing, memory, 9-cell battery (yes, it pops out). It took couple of days at the US customs. My original estimated delivery was 4/11 but received today 4/4.

Hope to see some feedbacks here!
