I would just like to say I'll be rooting for the dude from Grenada in the mens 400m final. After his show of awesome sportsmanship, I wouldn't care if there were Americans in the final. Still have tears in my eyes.

Don't I wish, but even if I took a shortcut to get there, my breath-holding powers, while admirable, are not quite up to the task. (And I'm not sure my landing gear is up for the impact either.)

Nope, this weekend's excitement has revolved around redoing the deliverables for a movie--I'd delivered everything according to their specs a few weeks ago...and then on Friday they told me that they wanted a different format. I asked about the details and they said, oh, by the way, today's the delivery deadline (which we'd never mentioned before).

Would have been a bunch easier if they'd mentioned either the format change or this deadline a few weeks ago. So I'm going to try having everything completed by morning.

(That and trying to figure out how to set up a quick-and-dirty tape backup for the studio so I can have somebody back everything up while they're sorting through a hundred terabytes of video scattered across a roomful of external hard drives. Why did everybody stop supporting tape backup systems while I wasn't paying attention?)

He swapped name tags with another runner who didn't qualify to show respect for him. The other runner Is a double amputee with carbon fiber prosthetics.
