Does your company do "skill surveys"? That's where they have a long list of technical skills and you are supposed to self rate yourself on things? Man.. always rank yourself mediocre, and only rank in a few catagories as possible.. I found out the hard way the first time.. When there's a huge problem, in desperation, they will search the companies "skill inventory" and start calling random people based on rankings.
So when I started work here, I only ranked myself in 2 catagories, and I said "average'
My boss said "XXX, aren't you expert level in these? Shouldn't you have ranked in more catagories"..
