One of my daughter's friends had grandparents who were interested, so I gave the fish away, but apparently $100 for a 55 gallon tank with stand and accessories was too much, so they can fark themselves. I need to just put it on craigslist.

No such luck--wasn't quite jogging yesterday (or the day before), but I've got all these different computers running various video jobs/updates/tests to try to figure out all sorts of file/network/application incompatibilities that just keep not quite getting fixed. Eventually, it gets to be 1 in the morning and I finally stop thinking, "okay, just trying *one* more thing will probably fix it all.

I started copying files off the main video array before going to bed so I'll at least have enough room to try a few different rendering options. Only one hour left to go....

(Why am I _still_ putting off upgrading to infiniband?)

I still have one, but after I decided I didn't have the time to take care of it (and when saltwater tanks need attention, they often need attention right away), I took some blue carpet and converted it to a lower-maintenance version (yeah, I know I've posted this before):



(Though that's an outdated photo: I've since replaced the CRT with an SGI 1600W. Much more high-tech looking, though it still probably qualifies as "vintage" these days.)



I don't want to come across as *too* vanilla, but I seem to be quite irredeemably het. I've only ever been attracted to women; no stirrings or fantasies in any other direction. I'm okay with that.

And irredeemably single, too. No spouses, ex-spouses, or offspring.

(Though I admit I've have had stirrings and fantasies in those directions--just nothing that's worked out. Well, actually I can't say I've ever fantasied about having an ex-spouse. That particular fantasy probably only happens to people who have a spouse to ex- from.)

Ah, poo! I made a one-character mistake in a UNIX script yesterday, and it came back to bite me on the butt this morning. Stupid parentheses versus curly braces, anyway. How's an old man supposed to see the difference on such a small screen?
