I was going through a nasty divorce
He was trying to use the dogs as a bargaining chip
I said fine, keep the dogs
I will get a new one
So I went to the shelter and it was remarkable

I was walking down the smelly hallway
Suddenly the lights dimmed (Wth???)
And suddenly I noticed music piping in (was that muzak on before???) it was You Light Up My Life by the great Debby Boone, btw
I smelled plumeria instead of animal sweat and butt
I stopped to race out of this obviously haunted shelter, but I was frozen in my tracks
My eyes met with the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen
This doggie looked at me and we were the only beings on that room
I knew I was to be her mommy from that minute on
I filled out the paperwork and wanted to take her home and feed her tummy snacks and rub her belly all weekend
But alas they required her to undergo a mandatory hysterectomy - or spay I guess they call it
I bribed the tech to bump her to the top of the next day's list
I spent the day lighting candles and praying At the abbey
And went to check on her
They shaved her belly, and she had some stitches but she was more beautiful than ever
I took her a blanket and bid her adieu til the dawn
I tossed and turned all night, but the morning finally came
I picked her up, and we've been best friends since

That's kinda how I am with Best Coast. I like all the songs on the album (first one, haven't listened to the new one yet), but I can't listen to it by itself, need a playlist with other songs in between. But that's how I usually listen to music, so it works out.

I still have dreams that I forgot to take x class and im really not going to graduate - talk about a freaking blur!

I have a similiar recurring nightmare.. But mine is that I signed up for a class, then forgot about it, and never went, and thus I am going to fail it and never get a degree
