It was a Kohl's sale on kids clothes with free shipping and an additional 20% off. I can't get to it right now because my work VPN blocks FB, and if I sign off of the VPN to get it, I get a windows IP address error and have to shut down.

No problem. I ordered DD1 a cute romper and a dress at 90% and for DD2 some onesies. I'll let you know next time I see clearance. I always like to stock up for next year during the season clearance.

Kohls drives me crazy. There was some cute clearance girl dresses on their last night for $11 but then I decided I didn't really need them. But I changed my mind this morning and went to buy them and they had raised the price to $17. Mad

I really need to start buying first - think later.
I've had a long standing vendetta vs kohls

now I only shop there when it's a dire emergency and I have free money etc

Wiles, you are just too nice, I guess.
My last date .. woman wanted to meet at bar after work.. Drinking from 5pm to 2 am.. over $200 spent , just on alcohol and tips... laugh out loud I'm not blaming her, I kind of go nuts at a certian point. I do remember tipping one bartender $20 (we were there quite a while).. The owner came out and introduced himself after that.. laugh out loud This bar was just kind of a hole in the wall. I guess I was a "high roller" to him.. It did impress the date though.

I'm curious as to why. I have a lot of athiest friends who take their kids to church for various reasons, but none of them have the intent of raising their kids as christians.

Maybe it's because they want their kids to see what it's like, and make their own decision?

I'd be more curious as to why an atheist would bring their kids to church.

But as to why not, prolly best not to get into it.

The right church community and leadership makes a difference, that's for sure. At my Godson's christening, the priest was such a jackoff I cant believe my cousin still takes her family there.
I actually have been planning on going to try out a protestant church our in the country. The priest volunteered to come counsel at treatment, and we had some nice exchanges. So his mass is at the new coffeehouse on their church grounds. You can drink coffee and lattes during service. Plus he says they sing. And he talks about modern things in his sermon. Plus he prays about hating the devil and stuff. That always is neat.

I have lots of good memories of church and church obligations as a kid. I'm a free thinker and I'm not going to let church doctrine dictate my opinions on politics or social matters, but instilling a spiritual practice (no matter what it ends up being) in a little person is a good thing. Dammmmnnn I had a dream about church last night. I cant remember what about it now Annoyed

Depending on the age, isn't that like letting them watch tons of commercials and having them "make their own decision" on what products they want? Churches and church practices are the product of 2000 (or more) years of refined practices designed to awe and indoctrinate. Especially catholicism.

That's the reason the majority of my athiests friends do. From what I understand, some of the most devout athiests were once devout christians (though not the ones I know), and they want let their kids make that choice like they did.

No I get it. If you can't say something nice, don't say it at all. laugh out loud

Oh....sorry. I let one of those pesky indoctrinations slip out again. Shutup

laugh out loud I have a lot of bad memories of church. It wasn't until I decided what I wanted to believe that I started getting serious about it. I don't know llama's past, but he's come to his decisions for his own reasons. For me, I had to know the dogma, know the arguments against it, and then decipher everything myself. One reason I decided to join the catholic church after being in a non-denomination church for two decades was because I was able to research and see why the catholics practice what they do. Many things that non-christians consider dogma, are simply reminders the same as setting two alarm clocks. We don't want to get up in the morning any more than we want to do the right thing and sacrifice our own desires for others. For some, the right thing is doing what is right for you. For others, it's doing what's right for someone else. And still for others, what's right is subjective to that very time and place and can vary from situation to situations. There are a lot of decisions to be made.
