That was fast.
I think the biggest laugh I got was when Randy drank it and told everyone what it was.

Thumbsup

Limiting carbs, eating lots of veggies, moderate amounts of meat and cheese & drinking lots of water

Oh and of course working out and being more active

I only have my Bachelor's but I plan on going back to school for a Masters/Ph.D. I think it's really good to get out there and work a job for a while so you know what kind of things your higher degree is going to do to benefit you.

How close are you to finishing up? Have you done internships? Do you have job ideas or offers lined up for when you graduate?

Lots of people do the straight through to Ph.D because they don't really want to get out into the world, but real world experience is waaaaay more important in jobs/careers than the education so much. Even if you have a Ph.D if you have no experience, you'd end up getting a post doc somewhere and low pay for a bunch of Ph.D's to train you how to function in the real world.

Unless you plan on living in the world of acedemics, I'd say get a job first and save lots of money (incase you don't get an RA or TA-ship) and get some experience so that you know what routes you want to follow. Especially if you have the will power to make sure you go back to school. Keep it in your plans and work towards it and set a schedule. Hell your company may even pay for you to get your Masters or they'll at least send you to classes to help you do your job better.

Once Phrozt gets a secure job, I plan on taking my GRE's and finding a Ph.D program somewhere close by to go to. And then likely come back to my job with promotions and higher pay grades Smilie

That's awesome!!! Keep up the awesome work.

I've been really proud of myself. I've been eating better and staying in the 120-125 range instead of the 128-135 range I was in a while back!
I have 2 yrs. left, Biochemistry major, I have done a couple internships, looking to do many more these last couple yrs. My grades are avg. inbetweeners low and high, working on bringing it up though, and I will.

Another question, I wanna get a minor, do those really make a difference out in real world? I am considering dual minor maybe. I am guaranteed one for sure, but thinking of a second.

Minors are nice but not super important unless you want people to know you have a decent chunk of knowledge in an area that you'll be working in more. If you're really interested in the minors then go for them. If they're just going to add tons of stress to you, I wouldn't worry about them.

I got my degree in Specialized Chemistry. No minors but I did a lot of Interning and when I graduated I had two job offers.

My sister's major is German, but she LOVES glass blowing so she may get a minor in glass blowing just because she enjoys it and it may be something that she wants to go into. That minor actually gives her experience.

For scientists like us, minors are mainly just paperwork. Once you're in a job, what will really matter is how you apply that learning that you got from the minor. Not that you have it...

I was thinking of a Minor in Economics or Business.

And a second possibly in Neurobiology.

What emphasis of Chemistry are you in, since it is "specialized"?

What are your goals for a job? Economics and Business are great if you're planning on going into R&D in Industry. Neurobiology is awesome if you're going into Medical work (or becoming a MD) or if you're planning on staying in acedemics and want to do Research at a University or Government Lab....

I'll PM you later or ask you other questions after I finish class, sitting in Microeconomics class right now. Seems like our majors are a bit similar and you have more experience than I in everything.

No prob! Somedays I wish I had majored in BioChem...I'm on the fence about going back to school in BioChem or in Food Science...
