I've heard chewy talk about how much he hates the dog many times, which is why I'm reading his post with the assumption that he is embellishing a few things, just to make it sound worse than it is.

If your DW loves animals (and loves this dog) as much as she apparently does, then I'm sure if the dog's quality of life were that bad, she'd know in her heart it was time to say goodbye.

But I don't wanna start a fight, so I'm gonna just leave it alone. I think everyone around here knows that I love animals more than most humans. laugh out loud

No she wants her to die, too, but she doesn't want her to have to be put down. And I'm not embellishing this. If I had said it last month I would have been.

Well.....she really loves the dog but is really pissed at how bad she is. She wouldn't be this way with my dog since my dog is kind of a pain in the ass, but she has a special attachment to this dog since she found it almost dead on the side of the road when it was about 6 months old. She still had the stitches in from getting spayed, and had no hair left on her body. I think she feels like she's failing or all of the love she gave the dog was for nothing.

She found the dog when she was 6 months old? How old is the dog now?
