Here's a darn good article [thinkingmomsrevolution.com] about the upcoming flu season. I don't think I'm going to be getting a flu shot this year.

Enhhh, I never get a flu shot. About every six or seven years I catch a mild case of it and am down for three or four days, then it's back to work. Who needs a frickin' "best guess" vaccination?

You are in some serious need of balance.
First, that's not an article, it's a blog. Along with that comes no credentials, no background of the authors expertise, and even in the post, no backup for anything they say. Add to that the line about the vaccine-autism link being a parallel to the smoking-cancer link, and a lot of credibility is lost.

Do I think flu shots are a good idea? No. But that's because I've read the science behind what they are (last years dominant strain) and feel this is more of a hype/ money maker than a help for people. So does that mean that people shouldn't get the polio vaccine? No.
Blogs like this seem to be written by people who get a taste for one or two things in the scientific/ medical community that aren't on the up and up and therefor they bash all medicine and science.

You are such a contradiction. You seem to be level headed in so many things, but once there's an "issue" to be on the side of, you go all out. Is it just easier this way? Is it so hard to think each step through? Like, go to the dr and say yes I'd like the polio vaccine and MMR, but no hep B (my infant isn't having sex JUST yet) and no rotavirus because that's been recalled twice and I don't want to be in the test group, thanks.

I'm not writing this to be a jerk. It's just if you're going to post that kind of stuff and treat it as some sort of credible source, I believe it deserves a dose of reality.

Also, boobs.

There's more mass in her boobs than in the rest of her body from the waist up.

Sorry. It's a blog; not an article. And hellz no it's not a credible source, but I post things like this to encourage the discussion. I prefer to take the herbal and natural paths to things instead of a shot of this or a shot of that. Look at all of the meningitis outbreaks in the past two weeks because of a steroid shot for back pain. People have been dying from it. And the doctors want to put tubes in DS3's ears because of his constant earaches. We decided to do some research on the subject and decided to change his diet over to the GAPS diet. It changed his life and our lives even though we were told by 4 different doctors that we not doing what was best for our child and wasting our time. The diet, in conjunction with drops of essence of garlic in his ears not only took care of his earaches, but it changed his entire attitude when we discovered he was eating a lot of foods that he was allergic to.

Your points are valid, but it makes me sick the way that health has become a business instead of a science and a way of life.
