Sony has some decent deals every so often. They had the STR-DG720 7.1 receiver for $99 and I picked one of those up for someone else who had a setup more similar to yours, I think. She was just setting that up with a couple of used stereo speakers, but she can always add more speakers to it later on.
One issue to keep in mind is what outputs your TV has. Most these days have an optical audio output (and often nothing else), so if you want the sound system to play the audio from broadcast TV, you'll want a receiver that can use the output of the TV, too.
Pics? Pre-designed costume or a roll-your-own?
Lots of different reasons. Depends on the person. I've never done it, but I can understand a lot of reasons for having the urge to. Sometimes it's a matter of control (similar to some kinds of anorexia), sometimes it can be inspired by having the people around you angry at you all of the time and/or constantly telling you what a terrible person you are. When you can't do anything else, you can take it out on yourself, too.
P.S., never underestimate the power of Spandex. I had to use the flesh braking system a while back (truck passed me and then made an abrupt right turn into an alley right in front of me without signalling) and though the skin of my hip and thigh was pretty well torn up, the Spandex survived and I didn't have to spend an evening picking pieces of gravel and dirt out of my leg. I was pretty happy about that.
P.P.S., am I the only person left who doesn't particularly care for bacon? Not that I dislike it, it's more of an 'eh' feeling, and I might have a bite or two if it showed up on a plate, but even a full strip is more than I'd care to eat.

I'm a vegetarian so I'd only make the bacon for LW or a guest

Also, I prefer Vampire Diaries over Gossip Girl... I am not gay, my brother likes to watch GG for some reason though... it's kool bc theres a couple hot girls in it, but I never got into it.
2 GG characters , I had presumed you were a fan
I never fooled around with a teacher. Of course I was married in college and grad school
I never saw Vampire Diaries.
I have an idea for you to see lots and lots of V , TP. You want to be a dr? Be a gyno!!! Plus you could do breast exams too
I don't eat textured soy protein if I can help it
I don't have an interest in real burgers or dogs, so I am not pulled to eat fake ones
I prefer whole real fresh food from the earth
TP the future gynecologist...
Don't do obstetrics, too much liability these days....
Oh man you can see all kinds of V

I'm not a vegetarian myself, though I don't do a lot with meat. And I'm not really adventurous about it, either--Chewy's culinary adventures go far, far beyond anything that I'd do. (Making horror movies is bad enough; I don't think I'd want to eat a pig head where special effects are not involved.)
But I'm weird about these things--like I don't ever want to go fishing because I can't watch it without imagining how the fish would feel. On the other hand, it doesn't bother me to watch surgery on myself or something like that--I've offered to help before, but they've never taken me up on it. (And they should have the time they lost the washer down inside my leg somewhere and had to go hunting for it with a scalpel and screwdriver.)

But it's mainly a convenience thing. They quick and tidy to prepare in two minutes of microwave time.

I haven't had them for years, but I recall that the Lightlife "Smart Dogs" were okay. I don't care for any of the veggie burgers that are trying to simulate hamburgers, though. The ones that are trying to be a food substance all their own--just in a burger shape--can be good. Like the Morningstar Farms original garden veggie burgers (not the "grillers"--those are the "pretending to be a hamburger" type) and their spicy black bean burgers are good.

I have to confess that watching sports has never held the slightest appeal for me. _Playing_ sports I understand, but unless it's people I know, I'd rather not sit around watching someone else play. (Well, I guess there *are* a few indoor sports that are not so bad to watch, but they usually don't involve teams).
(Oh, dear. I don't watch team sports, I don't care much for bacon, but I do like baby corn. I may be in danger of getting myself kicked out of the thread....)

Bright blue hair might have been even more dramatic, but there was nothing on her that wasn't either bright orange or bright blue, so she must have been a serious fan.
