Fantasy Football

I've been running an "unofficial" SD Fantasy Football league for the last few years. I need a few more folks to sign up.

It's a yahoo league, live draft next Wednesday at 9 PM EDT. We have 6 so far, need 4-6 more. No $$ involved unless I can convince Schoobs to throw in an SD t-shirt for the winner. Wink

PM me if you're interested.

Need an opinion:

I am in another league with what I would consider higher stakes....it is a 12 team PPR keeper league.

You can only keep two players each year and they cannot be at the same position. You keep the player in the round you selected (meaning if you draft Brady in the first round and keep him, you lose your first round pick the following year).

I was lucky enough to draft Cam Newton in the late rounds last year and chose to keep him. I was lucky enough to land RG3 in the mid-late rounds this year. We only start one QB.
I can't keep them both for next year and was thinking of trading one soon to maximize my chances of winning this year.
Questions:

1. Which one should I trade? (I would rather keep the one with better long term value)
2. What should I be expecting to get in return in the WR position?

I would appreciate anyone's take on this.

Get a keeper at WR and you have two mobile QBs, young, and have good strong arms. Question you have to ask yourself is whether Cam will have more talent around him in that Carolina organization than RGIII in Washington. Because ultimately it will come down to whether either QB has the tools around him to get the job done so that QB is not pressing to make miracles happen. Right now it's tough to say. Cam has the better tools at the present but Washington can build around RGIII and get more tools and honestly if Shannahan is kept then that could very well happen as he has a helluva eye for talent (thinking back to Denver days).

Right now both are interchangeable and my feeling is that both will have about the same type of year. One may run for more TDs and one may pass for more TDs but INTs will probably happen for both alpha males as well as bad passing games.

Look for a keeper WR with future talent, a Brandon LaFell (and another WR because LaFell by himself is not a fair trade), a Damaryius Thomas, Antonio Brown, or some other future elite WR (barring injuries). If you can sucker one or two into a trade you could get two of those type of WR and can then decide later on which one to keep.

<~~~~ football n00b so take this as you will

I can't comment on Washington/RGIII other than to say that I know he doesn't have much help either but I saw firsthand the pain that the Panthers have put many of my friends through since their most recent playoff appearance in 08. Apparently they have a lot of below average to average guys locked up long term with little cap flexibility in the near future so Dontknow linly [grantland.com]

By the way, has anyone seen the recaps thing where they break down stas from each matchup from the previous weeks? It was definitely weird to read a detailed account of my shame from last week's loss laugh out loud

You'll win that easily, maybe even tonight..Roll Tide has no one playing Mon. So he's done.

Yea,but you still have 2 tomorrow night. I'm out after this game.

I'm happy with my team though, some pretty decent picks...lot of my players are doing better then expected.nod

Now I just need the Pats to stop Rice....ughhh..I need Baltimores D to stop plays, and the Pats to kick points..Rofl2
Not to mention I obviously want the pats to win... I'm like "Nooo don't for for the touchdown, go for the field goal"..Doh

From my POV, bad idea Nono2

However, you're in luck, Baltimore tends to stop using Rice right when he starts to heat up and they let Flacco throw the ball too much so you should be safe. Annoyed

Try cheering when your kicker gets a field goal only to realize you lose points because you also have the opposing teams D...Annoyed

Regardless, I'm a Pats fan first..then FF player. Thank god this isn't a money league..OMG

That's me tomorrow. Can't cheer Aaron Rodgers in my CBS league because he'll decimate my Seattle defense. If I route for defensive points then Discount Doublecheck doesn't go nuts in fantasy.

I hope I finally got this week... Who is Ditka?

Anyway, I am mad for the most part, everyone of my leagues has either Bush or Spiller for a starter. And they had to get injured this week...

Although I have Charles in one league, that was a plus, and Smith finally paid off this week... As with Welker, just no TDs...
