Consumer Reports [consumerreports.org] has an offer through Union Plus to have access to their online site for $26 for the year. It's normally $39. I was able to renew my subscription at the discount rate and I'm not a Union Plus member.

Seems complex since I had started my this year. Tells me I have already a member going. I guess you can't stack the membership fees so the next one would kick in.

You might want to check out your local library to see if you can get FREE access to PDF scans of Consumer Reports online.

I got (surprise) free subscription of consumer reports from Ooma for being a loyal customer for them. After my first issue receiption, I was checking my Ooma sub folder in emails... then found an old email from Ooma about this.. :-) Now I need to renew my subscription once it gets expired..

Most local libraries have it free anyway.

I'm pretty sure the online portion contains boatloads of information that is never included in the printed magazine.

I may be missing the point to this.. so people like us just review things and they're online for a fee?

Why not just check Yelp, Google, Consumer Rip Off, BBB, JD Power, etc.?

It's not exactly the same as the magazine.

If you don't want access to the magazine...just find any library that will give you login info. I used one from Virginia yesterday I think (I live in California..).

I think it cost us $20 since we subscribe to the magazine.

It's not really a site for leaving reviews or complaints. It has a lot of different and more recent info than the magazine. Oh, and if you do want to complain, forget the BBB. They are hardly impartial. Check it out - BBB [bbbthetruth.com] .
