Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)
1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)
2. Hard-to-destroy stuff
-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)
- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)
- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
- Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
- Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
- Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
- Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

Today Gus threw up... Looked like chunks of Milkbone, and deer poo....
Milkbone and deer poo--interesting combination. Can't blame him for upchucking that.....
Kinda looked like this pudding with rasins I was served in England...
Edit: I take it back: http://en.wikipedia.or
Till a Manager said it was not appropriate...
It is sponge cake with raisins.
The ingredients include "fish oils"

I am out of butter... he ate the last stick....
So...today:
Dog #1 eats 4 cups of perfectly good dog food for breakfast
Dog #2 eats 3 cups of perfectly good dog food for breakfast
Dog #1 "cleaned out" the litter box for me.
Dog #2 looked on furlornly
Dog #2 then found a tasty paper plate in the garbage to carry around
Dog #1 licked up all the stuff dripping off that paper plate onto the floor
Dog #2 tires of his paper plate and decides he needs some to wake up bit by eating some coffee grounds...also found in that tasty garbage can
Dog #1 opens a door!
(Cat hisses and pounces....to no avail)
Dog #2 barks to go out...and then eats blades of grass for dessert
Dog #1 drinks 2 quarts of water at once, and then pushes the ice cube button on the fridge door with his nose to get a "treat"
Dog #1 goes out, escapes from his leash and tromps across the back yard, swims across the pond, goes delicately under the neighbors electric fence, plays with the horse, and is found with his face in a pile of....um...."goodies".
Dog #2 comes in...and finally gets his chance to help out by "cleaning the litter box"
Dog #1 eats 4 cups of perfectly good dog food for supper
Dog #2 eats 3 cups of perfectly good dog food for supper
Both dogs are given green beans, pumpkin, and peanut butter for being such good doggies by DH who has missed this entire day of fun.
Dog #2 eats a new roll of toilet paper
Dog #1 "counter surfs" the supper left overs
Dog #2 steals napkin with gravy on it from garbage
Dog #1 gets licorice from DH...????
Dog #1 checks the cleanliness of the litter box once last time
Both dogs lay down by the front door and wait for their chance to "clean the litter box" again.
And ok, you made my dog look good today.
Thank you for talking me out of getting a second dog...
Gus does not need a partner in crime... Well he probably does.. I do not think I could handle it...
