Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)

1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)

2. Hard-to-destroy stuff

-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)

- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
  • Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
  • Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
  • Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
  • Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

I don't think he'd like that one bit. He did eat a lot of multi colored yarn from a toy of his... man that was one colorful poop. It's my favorite poop of his. It's still frozen in the yard. I'll probably still be able to admire it in the spring thaw.

My dog tends to like giving back her meals only occasionally, though last week was an eventful one. This translates to 4 bed comforters being washed within the same week.

She also managed to eat half a tray of cupcakes sitting on the table recently. She didn't puke from that though...

My dog once tried to eat my neighbor's turtle, but those shells are strong. It still has teeth marks on it.

So let me get this straight: Your dog ha been trying to eat Batman? Even my dog has never gone this far. EEK!

What my dog ate this week: I don't know, but she'd better never eat it again. Yesterday morning it gave her diarrhea all over the downstairs ((which of course is covered in almost white carpeting). Sick dog.vomit

Whee Foster puppy has found a good home with another dog there to play with! I miss her though. She went too quickly.

My dog got a hold of some of the Dale and Thomas Popcorn... She thought it was yummy, but just vomit up the walnuts. EEK! Bad doggy! That popcorn is for mommy!! This thread probably gets interesting during the Christmas season. Smilie

Congrats on your successful placement for foster pup--she is so cute. Here's wishing her a happy new forever home.
