Dog chew toys that don't get them in trouble: Add your dog's favorites! (Thanks, daisee)

1. Fun stuff
- We leave empty cardboard boxes for the dogs to chew up. Also these loofah bones (cleans their teeth while they rip them apart) and TONS of cat toys (with catnip). (from veritableqndry)

2. Hard-to-destroy stuff

-At dollar tree they carry "milkbone" toys... she beats the hell out of them and still they hold up. (not to mention their only a buck if they destroy them) (from wakethewicked2)

- I've had good luck with these -- the avatar dog has destroyed everything but this kind. They come in different sizes and shapes and you can put treats inside for them to dig out: http://www.petmountain.com/produc...-kong.html . I get mine at a local farm store, but I'm sure you could get them at places like Pets Mart if you don't want to buy online. (from callpocket)

- Here are a couple that have survived Sophie so far:
  • Busy Buddy bouncy bone - We gave up on the rawhide inserts. She rips those out in seconds but likes the toy without them anyhow and cannot kill it.)
  • Everlasting treat ball -Again she pulls out the expensive inserts right off the bat...but she likes bouncing the toy. You can also hide dog kibble in the middle for the dog to try to get out, which entertains him for awhile. She hasn't managed to rip this one at all yet even though it feels soft and flexible.
  • Jolly Ball: - Ours is bigger than the one at this link. It's hysterical to see her stick her snout in the hole and wave the ball in the air. It's bigger than her head. She runs around the house with it on her snout, growling and acting like a maniac. I don't know why she can't chew it up, but she can't.
  • Then there are big Nylabones, which she can kill eventually. But they take a long time to die. (from olu)

Gus ate everything that fell off my 1 year old nephews highchair...
A little prime rib, some asparagus, some mashed potatoes.. and one of my shoes by the back door... I had to drive home with a boot missing most of it's heel.

My sister's dog may have had a part in it, but Gus heart those boots....

Bear ate his new froggy bouncy ball. First he ripped the legs off, then awhile later the poor frogs body came off too Frown

Now he just has a bouncy ball, which surprisingly he loves just as much. laugh out loud

3 year old nephew tried smoked salmon, said "Icky.." and swatted the plate off the table.
I had eaten quite a bit, and it was actually pretty darn good...

My Sister's dog, and Gus ate the entire plate, and 1/2 the crackers...

He had the worst breath for most of the night...

Gus tore the face off my sister's dog's Loofa dog yesterday...
I cannot blame him, he did it while the other dog was playing with HIS toys..

Gus may have his bad moments but he is a good lil furry dude..
I did not start a thread about him eating.. oh say.. a check book or anything...Whistling

Isn't that the truth? They still will play with the toys even if there isn't a smidgen of stuffin left inside. Just an "old has been rag" is just as fun to them. laugh out loud

My dog, Becket is at the office today because his daycare is closed. A co-worker brought him a double cheeseburger, no onions, from McD's. Two chomps and gone.... Maybe it will take longer to digest since it's obviously still in one piece in his stomach!!!
