Is it ok to fill an McDonalds Ice Coffee Cup with Soda?

628 181 October 23, 2012 at 02:54 PM in Grocery
So its been bugging me but I dunno if someone could answer this.

My friends and I like to hang out at a McDonalds because we're hooked on the Iced Coffee as its cheap.

I typically order a large Ice coffee but sometimes I finish it early. I went to fill it with soda and a lady (another fellow customer) gave me a comment about how I shouldn't be doing that and should purchase a fountain drink cup (McDonalds has that $1 any size fountain drink going on)
I ignored her but its been bugging me.

Is it appropriate to just empty the left-over ice out of the cup and fill it with something from the Self-Serve Fountain Drink dispenser? (I understand its ok if I fill it with water)

What do you guys think?

OP, its fine. You're also allowed to grab all the burgers you want from the warming slides if nobody's looking and you can reach. Or fries. Or apple pies. Nobody minds.

If you were honestly unsure and didn't realize on some level that it was wrong, you would have just asked the employee(s) at McDonalds.

You know your cup isn't for soda. You paid for an iced coffee. That's it. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Probably a regional thing. We had it here about 5 or 6 years ago. It was a cold-weather item that they started selling around November and stopped around March. It only lasted two years here and it hasn't been back since.

It wasn't as good as a good home-made chili but I liked it as much as Wendy's, and I am a big fan of Wendy's chili. yummy

Now that I think about it some more, I used to get the Burger King chili when I was at my last job, so it had to be at least 8 years ago. Probably more like ten.

Wendy's Chili is made in store. Yea, it is just mix a can of this and two cans of that...but it is actually made there. I don't remember if they used burger patties for the ground beef though. I know McDonalds was made somewhere else, frozen, and sent to the stores who would put it in a pot of warm water to heat it up and serve it.

You really can taste when places put a little more effort into their product, but you have to pay for it too.
