I have an Iphone 4s. Mine does not shutoff unless I shut it off. I have had problems with the cashiers at target trying to scan my phone when using target coupons. I'm pretty sure it is the screen protector. It's pretty scratched up. Debating whether or not if I should get rid of the screen protector all together.

I keep one on all my devices to be safe, and it retains the resale value more... if you would like I can send you a couple of front and back ones if you like. I have a ton of them from when I was dealing iPhones a while back.

Did you update to the newest iOS? Also, if there are any problems, take it to the Apple store and if they find a problem, they will give you a free replacement and help transfer everything over.
