I met a friend from high school for lunch. Haven't seen her in 17 years. The last time I saw her we were fooling around at a party... and I stopped & she was RIPSHIT pissed... she's married with kids now but she looks exactly the same. I think we might be getting together again this weekend (she's in town for a conference).

It was really nice to see her. There are maybe half a dozen people from HS I'd care to see today and she was top of the list. We caught up and gossiped about everybody... so many memory bubbles...

Sought out Mumford & Sons doing The Boxer per FroggyPrime. I concur with his assessment... can't quite decide yet. I like covers to sound like the original. But I heart Mumford & Sons so much... I'm all conflicted.

I'm still grooving on the Lumineers too, even after hearing every song on their album 3 dozen times at least. I guess I must like it. laugh out loud

See, I normally prefer covers to sound different, because otherwise, I don't see much point.
For example, Aerosmith's "Come Together".
But for one done (IMO) extremely well, that sounds different than the original, there's Cowboy Junkies - Run For Your Life [youtube.com].
But this can also go terribly, horribly, disgustingly awry. See: Korn's Another Brick in the Wall. Not linking it because fark them and this abomination.
