I made my wife read that when I was still "trying" to get sober... I wanted her to focus on the parts where it said "be nice to your alcoholic, treat him right, be patient" but she only saw "don't let me club you over the head with this," and "he might be beyond help by now."
I've had good results at work with "I break out in spots" then when they push further "spots like rehabs, hospitals and jails." Also "I've had enough already" when asked why I'm not drinking
I'm not sending you OG. I'll send you Maria

Interesting. Personally I'd appreciate people being up-front about something like this. Then again I have to be honest to save my own life. I guess I'll have to reconsider advertising it so openly... I was thinking about just saying "I'm not drinking today" (which is 100% true and exactly how this program works) and only elaborate if they press for details.

Me and JJ watch this show 666 Park Ave on Sundays. It's soooo campy. I was telling a friend about it today -- she and I are like twins in so many tastes- and I recommended the show. The wife of the Demon guy, played by Vanessa Williams, got drugged and kidnapped at a party where she'd been drinking. Husband wanted to keep it from her and he said 'Well you are never shy at parties, hon. After all that champagne, martinis, and wines, I guess you just blacked out. And she's soooo blasé, oh I guess so. Oh well. So how was your day?

I just think lying about why you don't drink won't get you anywhere in the long run. How soon after the first date lie do you call them to make amends for lying?

I've gotten pretty good at saying "no" in such a way that few people ask questions.
