As I was explaining to my SO, I believe in being prepared to an extent. These people are just nuts. I mean, there's always the possibility of not being able to return to your home for a few days because of whatever reason, or some natural craziness happen and you're stuck at home for a few days. Or something happening like a civil disturbance. All in all, nothing more than a few days of having to fend for oneself. I try to keep a couple of weeks' worth of stuff on hand at home, and a weeks' worth of stuff (I have a few MREs, clothes, tent, sleeping bag, that sort of thing) in my vehicle.

These dudes making bunkers and running HAZMAT drills for when the smallpox comes are prepping for shit that will most likely never happen, and if it does, I'm not sure I'd want to survive anyway.

Why do these people always seem to be religious extremists or is this just confirmation bias on my part?
Confirmation bias. None of these individuals have mentioned religion in the few episodes I've seen.

They should do a show on a group of gay guys prepping for the end . Like a Mayan 2012 party.
It would involve a big party. Lots of sex. White wine and drunk confessions about crushing on and bonking each others partners

If you round to the nearest hundred, it's 200. Percents have nothing to do with it.

Confused

I have no idea what that is, nor did I endorse Googling such things.

They aren't. They just get edited that way. Well I should say most aren't. A lot of people have complained that have been on that doomsday preppers show about how they were portrayed. One lady was upset because they kept trying to get her to say she'd eat her cat if she had to.

Others......others believe this is the book of Revelation happening. They live their lives in solitude not pushing things on others (i hope) because of what they believe. I'm okay with that.

That has potential: people would watch that--and the opportunities for targeted advertising would be phenomenal.

Do you think there's a matchmaking site for doomsdayers? Like "OkShiva" or something:
