it was a laparoscopic out-patient procedure, it hurt as much as any of those might hurt. there was slight soreness in the area for about a week, then i didn't really notice it anymore.

Oh ok, do you feel it inside you? Or as well, once you got it put in, did you instantly notice the change in appetite and all?

Last one, and I will be done, promise. Just answer that one honestly.

I got another question, I gotta ask in serra's thread if permitted, and that should fulfill some of my time while I am studying.

i can't feel the lap band inside me because it's a band around my stomach. i can feel the port, which is what allows the doctor to tighten the band, because that is sutured to the underside of my belly - i can feel that now because i've lost so much weight that just pushing on my belly will let you feel it. before, you couldn't feel it unless i laid down flat on my back.

after the surgery for about 6 weeks, there is swelling around the band on the stomach (for obvious reasons) and because of that i spent the first 6 weeks on a liquid diet, transitioning to the "mushy" phase of the diet after 2 weeks - which is basically like oatmeal, grits, mashed potatoes, things of that consistency. i didn't eat solid foods for 6 weeks to allow my stomach to heal and prevent problems with the band slipping. i didn't really feel true hunger for almost 3 months after my surgery. these days, i sometimes don't feel hungry at all and have to remind myself to eat.

the lap band is also why you've seen me say that i can't really eat bread bulb

bread swells when you eat it (because mastication adds saliva to the bread, which causes it to swell up) and then the swelled up bread sorta clumps together and won't go down because of the lap band around my stomach.

i just really don't feel like being all technical in vviles thread tonight, i'd rather discuss how i just got full off of ONE SLICE of pizza Annoyed and how i just rented The Raven on Pay Per View with one of my free PPV codes that i got when i signed up for DISH Network LMAO

I can eat bread. But I'd rather not sit here while it tries to force itself through the band, because THAT I can feel - and it hurts like a bitch.
