I get where you are going with this and on one level i agree with you, but………..
i think it really comes down to the fact that we don't really have control over what we find attractive; some guys like girls, some don't, some people young people like old people, others don't, some like whites, some hate indians… for me what it comes down to is this, i really like asian guys, but if i went out with friends and i met this black girl and we were talking and we hit it off like no other and the chemistry were there, i wouldn't say "no sorry aint gonna happen you aren't my type"
my "type" is a guideline for what 95% of the people who i find attractive fall into. Since the majority of them are guys, i will adopt the title gay because it makes it easier to converse with people but just because i have a type and just because i pursue a type doesn't make me shallow, because I don't let it close doors for me.
When I was in college, I worked out with a friend of mine and we did the abductor/adductor machine and she was always stronger at adducting her legs and I was always stronger at abducting my legs
They just said randomly in a thread that they didn't think they'd get what they want for xmas and wouldn't elaborate in the thread, so I attacked with a PM...and I think it helped that a couple other people asked through PM as well, so I was hidden

If someone is really hot physically, but they fail miserably at personality, my mind will pick out their absolute worst features and focus on them and make me very unattracted to them physically.
It's a very prominent thing with Phrozty. He's super fun and intelligent and technically my type, but man on those days when he's being obnoxious and I'm pissed at him, his attractiveness drops so much....but then he'll do something awesome and I'm immediately smitten and wanting to jump his bone
