Was it for a Grand Cherokee, or regular? Chilton's manual is a catch-all Wrangler/Cherokee/Grand Cherokee, but the Haynes is actually specific to the model. I also found a download for a factory service manual for a 98, which may have some use to me.
I had both at one point. Mine was for the Cherokee.

I also like to put the brake on every time I park the car. It goes: stop car, put car in N, put brake on, release foot brake, once weight of car has shifted to brake, put car in P.
I'd rather put all that wear and tear on easily/cheaply replaced brake components, versus the transmission.
