Is Pornography Cheating?

So I'm listening to my local radio station and an interesting point has been brought up by the hosts when a listener has called in. The point is that his girlfriend has really grilled him thoroughly about finding pornography on his computer.

One host says that pornography is cheating while the other feels that it is not cheating. The caller views this as not cheating. My personal opinion is that it is not cheating as long as there is no physical contact.

This same question can be posed in the form of whether an "online" relationship is considered "real" or not. However, that is for a much different topic and a much different thread.

So the question I pose to you: Is Pornography Cheating?

I don't know if it's wrong per se, but I don't think it's ok. In my mind, every opportunity for sex is an opportunity for intimacy... and I don't want my husband wasting that (or me either, for that matter...).

EDIT: FYI, this was in reference to masturbating, not porn. I do think that porn is a form of cheating...

I don't know about you, but my DH is normally way too tired to get up and deal with it. laugh out loud He sleeps like a rock...

Of course. There's nothing wrong with striving for that. Most of us do. However, a normal, biological reaction to something should not be considered unfaithful or cheating. If you or your spouse consider it that, you are way too hard on yourselves. It's almost as bad as saying that when a naked woman comes on the screen, your woman should expect you to look away or that you should have absolutely no attraction to it. Doing so would be a whole lot more unnatural than the opposite. We change our physical actions when we get married. But, one of my favorite sayings is "You are married....not buried." You are still a person. You are still a man. She should not expect that to ever change.

Maybe she doesn't act like she cares, but I bet she'd be thrilled if you told her you looked away. And the woman who bent over in front of you probably wouldn't know either way, but I'm sure she would appreciate a respectful gesture like that if she did know. Just because something's sitting right in front of you doesn't mean you have the take the opportunity.
