Read the details, this is a MIR for the Smart Car:

Get Smart Car MIR wyb qualifying Mercedes SLS AMG between 12/1 and 12/25/12. Submit proof of purchase contract along with the rebate form you can print HERE. You do not have to buy all the Mercedes SLS AMG at one time and rebates start at $15000 wyb 2 Mercedes SLS AMG and go all the way up to $400000 wyb 12, and you can purchase up to 4 of each Mercedes SLS AMG. You can upload your purchase contracts via website, email or there is a mail in option that must be postmarked by 1/16/13. You can go HERE to read more about this rebate and get a list of all the Mercedes SLS AMG included. Rebate will be in the form of a stock Smart Car. Limit one Smart Car per mansion. Mercedes dealers, manufacturers, their employees or their families may not claim Smart Cars on behalf of consumers (end users).

If they gave a Fiat 500 Abarth for free, then I would totally be all over it. I would get it and do return/rebuy, PM, everything in SDer power to get that Abarth. As for Benz, then not so much Big Grin

I heard at the time you drive the car off the lot, it'll lose 15% to 20% of value, but you can always try not drive those off the lot, maybe hire a forklift to lift it to your truck.

GRRRR dead deal for me, no more white smart cars. Anyone think a better deal will come along? Im thinking maybe Rolls Royce Phantom + Free Tape Dispenser?

The key problem with micro cars like Smart and Scion IQ is that they are meant for narrow European streets and relatively short city commute distances. Put them on 2 hour LA commute and several hour freeway driving that most American love doing and they are out of question. I agree that they are great for a Pizza delivery guy.
