My parents-in-law are supposed to be visiting in the next couple weeks, they've been out of the country for quite some time now. No idea if I'll be seeing them at all or not, may be interesting times.

Whatever you tell the wife, will be told to the mother in law (at least in my experience).
I hope it wasn't too damaging/embarrasing.
I was really annoyed when my new bride told everyone in her family my salary (which was more then they made, so next time we visited, they all rubbed in about how "Oh JJ, you're doing good, making $X.. that was annoying)

Never hand someone a loaded gun, pointing back at you.

She used to tell her mother and brother every damned little thing that went on in our lives, then was subjected to endless blather and criticism about it by her mother and brother. For years I told her, they don't need to know any of our personal business, period. Don't ask me what finally clicked, but damn I'm glad it did. Things have been much quieter for the last few years.

Yeah I had to do that with the queen as well. Her mom got all pissed at us for moving because she spent 50 grand during the height of the housing market to turn our attic in to an in-law suit. This was after her mom sat down with me and explained how she wanted to do that instead of buy a house near by for when she comes to visit. I told her no, and over the course of several months she nagged me over and over about it. I finally agreed on the condition that we would never repay her for it, and that we were doing her a favor and not the other way around. Never mind that the construction released mold in to the house that resulted in my son being stillborn. And she still holds the whole in-law suit over our heads and has told us we have no right to discuss money with her. The queen still hasn't gotten that she can't discuss anything, let alone money, with her mom. I just had to tell her again to stop discussing every little thing with her mom b/c now her mom is all pissed off that we are doing the h2o2 thing. I don't farking understand why women have to divulge everything to their mothers? Crazy

Money is never a good idea to discuss with outside family members. They want to gossip about it, borrow it, or give it to you with heavy strings attached when first there were none. Bye

the apartment complex maintenance guys are doing the yearly inspections today. they check the serial numbers on the appliances, change the air filter, and check the toilet for leaks. so the guy just unlocks the door and waltzes right into the apartment without so much as a knock.
