OMG so much to type, where to begin? OMG
  • the cost to replace 3 spark plugs (no wires) was indeed $180 - $22/ea for spark plugs, and the rest of that was labor because it was the spark plugs in the back. and those are a bitch to get to.
  • the oil sensors are not broken. i had about 2 1/2 quarts of oil in the car, and the low oil sensor would have alerted me once it dipped below 2 quarts.
  • the CEL did indeed start blinking because of a misfiring cylinder. the reason that cylinder started misfiring is because of the damage that is being done to those 3 spark plugs in the back. that damage is caused by an issue with the way my engine is using oil.
  • i am losing oil from somewhere and they don't know exactly where/how it's happening. but it's somehow coming out the top and splashing onto those back 3 spark plugs. then the oil is burned off and subsequently damaging the plugs, which is causing the misfires.
  • over the next 5k miles, i'm going to take the car to the dealership every 1k miles, so they can check my oil levels and check out what's going on under the hood. it's called an oil consumption test and it's going to be a pain in the ass, but it has to be done.
  • this will help them diagnose the root of the problem. it's more than likely a power train thing, whatever that is. of course, the power train is still under warranty, no worries about that. but i'm paying out of pocket for all of this until they actually determine that it's the power train that is messed up. when they diagnose it all, the warranties will reimburse me for all the stuff i've paid for as a result of the warranty-covered issue.

gosh i don't know if i missed anything or not, but please by all means - ask me any questions you want laugh out loud

it's only for this week. the regular admin is on vacation, and they just need someone to cover the basic stuff until she gets back. i'm waiting to hear back about this job with a pharmaceutical company that's actually decent pay. until i get that call, working a few days for $10/hr is fine by me, it keeps me busy!

yup, i have a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L V6

they mentioned something about my V-TEC system being a possible part of the problem
