This is a take-it-easy weekend for VF. I still have to mow the yards, but that's not a huge deal. Other than mowing, I'm cutting up a bunch of boxes from the last few weeks, nailing some stars to a wooden sign that's an American flag (because July 4th is here) and maybe cleaning up a little around the house. It would be a great weekend to smoke something on the grill, except I haven't purchased the new grill, yet.

Well, there'll be more time for taking it easy when I retire in another 10 or 15 years. Too bad Wally World isn't hiring senior citizens as greeters, any more.

Faint So what have a missed? I've been busy geeking out.

The Sperm Bank had a batch of sour dough ready to bake as bread this morning, but I commandeered it and turn it in to sour dough pancakes. I sent the oldest out to pick berries; he brings in about 2 cups of blackberries, raspberries, and blue berries every morning. They went well in the sourdough pancakes. Now it's time to go mix some cement for the footings of the chicken coop.

It looks like I have a date of sorts Sunday evening (not with anyone previously mentioned, I just messaged her last night, and then we IM'd for a few hours, then talked on the phone a bit).

There was a specific conversation that made it very apparent. I don't particularly want to divulge details Tongue
I'll probably pick a dinner place that's halfway between us--but she did make me aware of a restaurant in Old Market I have to try at some point (Block 16 [block16omaha.com]). They have poutine (cue the Canada jokes laugh out loud)
