People on eBay selling Spotify Premium for ~$15 a year... legit?

Hey guys.

so I noticed people are listing spotify premium subscriptions on ebay like this:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Spotify-P...43b7c81ff0

but that is nearly 90% off. Seems too good to be true, and the fact that the account is "renewed" every month makes me feel like they might just be buying people 1 month accounts/free trials, and then failing to renew after 30 days essentially screwing them over...

What do you guys think?

THIS IS THEFT

This was done using bots that let people try tons of numbers until they found one that worked. Once they had numbers to use, they would enter your info into the Telia website along with the phone number of some legit customer. That legit customer was now paying for your subscription to Spotify.

If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck...

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

I just purchased one on ebay. It isn't a free trial. You keep your old account, and I have already used my free trial. Under my account settings it now says:

You are currently using Spotify Premium. Your account is associated with our partner Telia, please refer to Telia for questions regarding your subscription.

It seems like Telia (Euro phone company apparently) has some kind of plan that includes Spotify. I didn't really look too far into it.

Seems legit, but we'll see what happens in a month or two. Even if I just get 2 months out of it, I come out ahead.

My subscription just renewed on the 19th so according to their policy i can't try it out until my subscription is over. If you don't mind, let me know how the subscription works out for you.

I googled this method - Telia (Swedish carrier) bundles Spotify with their plans.
People were exploiting a method which no longer works as far as I can tell.

I am looking for a free or low cost annual sub. code to Spotify.

Subscribed.

Just bought a subscription on eBay. Seller upgraded my account within a day. All he needed was my Spotify Username/Account# and the email address associated with my account. Like v12 says, this is some sort of Telia bundle. On spotify.com, my account overview now reads "You are currently using Spotify Premium. Your account is associated with our partner Telia, please refer to Telia for questions regarding your subscription."

So far so good. We'll see how long this lasts. I only paid $12.50, so if I get even 5 weeks of Premium, I've come out on top. If anything changes, I'll update.

Sir, the USD symbol is placed before the number, not after like in, say europe or parts of asia where you'd write 19,99 Euros or 1999 INR.

I found the way as well. Please PM me if interested. Your account must not be a Premium account already.
I did it myself (no reseller) with the Telia method and my Spotify is now a Premium Sub.

Don't really know what the big deal is about Spotify, Rdio and all these.
I am find myself reverting to my music own collection most often.

Also, FYI, when you download and install the Spotify software to your computer (I am on Mac OS), the option to scan your computer for music is enabled by default with no way to disable it during the installation or when launching the app.
It's very annoying.

I like my music collection, but Spotify lets me listen to albums I don't want to buy, artists I want to just try out, and gets me into related artists I would've never known about otherwise. I listen all day at work, trying out new music.

I noticed the Related Artists tab.

But it doesn't recommend music right?
You have to do the discovering/ browsing manually, correct? Or did I miss it?

I did notice the option to scrobble to your last.fm account.
In turn last.fm perhaps can be used to accomplish that.

EDIT: wizard7926, I just noticed your post count, holy smokes, I should bow to you. Also you are in DE! A no sales tax state. A true SDer.
You know, I always wanted one of those white on Black car vanity license plates. Looks so cool.

v12 came through for a free year of spotify premium subscription. The deal couldn't have gone smoother. He was upfront about the terms and did exactly as stated. I'm very happy Smilie

Thanks v12 Smilie
