Bad Situation....

2,585 710 May 14, 2013 at 12:28 PM in Chat
So I went to a car dealership to look at a Mitsubishi Eclipse I'm interested in. I took it for a test drive and was convinced to put down a deposit for the price they were giving it to me for. I asked if I could get a refund if it falls through (they don't offer financing, full cash only). They said yes and go back and forth telling me "congrats on your car!". "I'm like dafuq?" I signed a purchase contract that stated a deposit is non-refundable yet the dealer told me I could if worse comes to worse. Even the manager came up to me and said if need be, we can refund it. Bad situation. Am I SOL? Sadwalk

That changes everything. Did he actually cross out the part that said nonrefundable?!
No... but he was nice about it. Hope he lives up to it.

$7500 car, $500 deposit, $7000 to go.
$7500 is not $2500 below the sticker of $8995.

Thought you said you got it for $2500 below sticker... wouldn't that be $6500 and thus, $6000 left to go? Facepalm

Includes taxes, fees, registration, etc. The $9000 didn't.

Let me count on 1 hand how many NICE car sales guys I've ever met...

Well I guess I don't even need my hand.

Ever go out to eat and the waitress is really nice to you?
Think because she actually likes you?
Hell no! Her tip is usually based on if you like her (and if the service was ok)

Car salesmen are always nice to you!!!!!
until they pry the cash from your hands.

They don't have all the cash. Wink
Nor will they get it. I paid, didn't get services intended. That's illegal too.

Nope.
I can't believe you thought the sticker price meant anything. The KBB value is a couple grand less than their "sticker" price. LMAO

What services were you expecting? Wasn't the deposit just to hold the car for you?

What services do you feel you paid for and didn't get? You paid to secure the car at that awesome price. You are getting exactly what you paid for.

Are you suggesting prostitution was involved? Unsure
