Knitters/Crocheters

I know that there are a few of you.
I have a lot of time on my hands, so I'm attempting some new things. I'm actually using patterns now, where before I just knitted whatever came about. Big Grin

I'm beginning to realize that I only have small needles and I'm becoming a yarn snob.

I knitted a hat for my nephew, one for myself (no patterns), a baby-carrier (no pattern), and now I'm going to start working on some fingerless gloves.

Anyone else? Any deals on good yarn, needles, etc.?

aggie those are sooooo pretty! I tried and tried to get how to do this...but I guess I got the wrong yarn. It keeps coming apart on me. I can get to the 2nd line then I get confused. I might get some other kind of yarn and try again.

The pattern I used for that blanket is so very easy. It takes a HUGE plastic hook, so it was fast and easy to see what you're doing. The first two or three rows are the hardest, so don't give up! hug

INSTRUCTIONS:
With Q hook, ch 58.
Dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across (55 dc)
Ch 3, turn, dc in each st across (55 dc)
Repeat for a total of 55 rows.
At the end of the last row, ch 1, turn and sc across. 3 sc in corner st. Continue to sc along the sides of the rows,
3 sc in corner st, sc across bottom, 3 sc in corner st, sc up the second side of the rows, 3 sc in corner st, join
with sl st to first sc. Finish off.

Thanks PG & BarbaraJean. (Can't bring myself to abbreviate your name.. Coverlaugh) Might bring Drio in here again!

I used the abbreviation on an online game for a while. I learned my lesson. Wink

Actually, nobody calls me Barbara Jean except my big sis. I go by Barbara or Barb, prefer Barb.

I liked Barbara Jean until I watched Reba. Now I feel like a redneck. look around Too late to change it now though. I use it everywhere online.

I finished a new mesh bag - I like it so much more than the first pattern I used. I think next time I'll sew the handles together instead of tapering & knotting them. It worked up really quickly - I had to rip all but the bottom circle out a week ago and finished it yesterday. Whee

My next project is another set of baby blankets for the twins. My sister wants the same blankets in the opposite yarn I used the first time. I did them in two different yarns b/c I couldn't find what I was looking for in one or the other. She loved them both, naturally. laugh out loud

That's great!

I'm still working on my ebay squares afghan. Just haven't spent much time crocheting lately.

I can't wait to see how that afghan turns out! That's so neat. I've had lots of time lately - my youngest has speech 2x/week and I can either sit there and stare at the wall or crochet. He's also working on getting used to his twin bed, so I spend a lot of time playing bouncer at naptime and bedtime. "Go back to your room!" laugh out loud It's easier to sit with my crochet project and listen to a book on my MP3 player than to get angry about him not staying in his room.

I've been playing on Ravelry... I am totally jazzed up about my new projects! I love the idea of tracking everything I'm working on.

Is everyone else keeping up with stuff on Ravelry?

i need to update ravelry so badly. i have an entire new bin of yarn i didn't add to my stash. it is so addicting. once i was accepted on there i couldnt keep away. i found so many amazing patterns.

i was really excited about these arm warmers. the inner dork in me had to make them since the pattern was from Doctor Who.

Love the arm warmers! Sadly, they are not much use in Houston. Coverlaugh

i want to knit a few sets of dish cloths as gifts but i am so not feeling any patterns. normally i love knitting dishcloths because they are such instant gratification and i can do them while watching tv. things seem either too plain or too complicated for me to bother with.

i think this is going to end with more ballband cloths.
